1 Mike Adams President Alice Daley Secretary - Treasurer Ginger Murphy Board Member - Marketing Tina Schneider Board Member - Events Stephanie Ward-Sosa Board Member - Membership Greetings! Thank you for your interest in our Association. If this is your first food truck, cart or trailer, welcome to the business. As fellow entrepreneurs with a similar interest...we, the members of the Oregon Food Truck Association would like to take this opportunity to welcome you, introduce ourselves and personally invite you to our upcoming membership meeting. Our meetings are held the 3 rd Wednesday of the month (excluding July and August). We typically hold them at the Keizer Fire Hall at 661 Chemawa Rd NE, Keizer, but we may hold them at other locations if necessary. We post them on our website or on our OFTA membership Facebook page. You may be asking yourself... Why should I care if there is a Food Truck Association out there? and I sure wish I knew of this Association when I started in this business...it would have made everything SO much easier. These comments came from real people who became members. That is our ultimate goal, to help those starting out in the food truck business or those already operating a food truck, be successful. If one of our member's hasn't jumped over one hurdle, another one has, and sometimes those mistakes or lessons can be quite costly and painful. We help each other avoid the pitfalls, if possible...or ease over them gently if we can. And many of the issues have been with the cities or counties, themselves, so it's nice to not have to take on those hurdles by yourself. Included in this packet is our Board Member's names and phone numbers. Any of them will gladly visit with you about concerns/questions you may have. Also included is list of why you should join, a copy of our Philosophy, Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, and an application to join. Thank you for taking the time to review this packet and we hope you will join us on this food truck journey!!! admin@oregonfoodtruck.com P.O. Box Keizer, OR website:

3 Why should I join the OFTA? The best investment you can make when operating or starting a food truck is to join the Oregon Food Truck Association. Help with local governmental red-tape. We are here to build a healthy working relationship with other interested parties in the food industry such as local government officials, other businesses, patrons and peers. We lobby for industry friendly laws, as well as collaborate with regulatory bodies to review existing codes, ordinances, procedures and enforcement to develop rules and regulations that can better address the needs of the mobile food truck industry. This knowledge and support can help you be more efficient and profitable. This allows you to focus on what's important to you and your business, rather than having to constantly monitor regulations. We keep you informed. The Oregon Food Truck Association membership allows you to learn what other food trucks are doing via social media such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. We give you a presence on our website allowing access to thousands of potential customers looking for catering, pods and locations at which you can offer your food and services. We need you.and all the independent food truck operators across Oregon. But this collective voice is only as loud as the number of its individual voices. More members mean greater representation, bargaining power, and better, broader and more affordable benefits. Participation in the OFTA not only makes sense, but frankly, it is the right thing to do for your business, your employees and your fellow food truck operators. Collaboration among members is also another important benefit since associations are a great resource of first hand experiences in running a similar business. Code of Conduct and Ethics. Standardization is also another concern of Associations. The name, Oregon Food Truck Association assures consumers that a certain degree of quality or level of standard is carried by all its members. This is also the reason why trade groups have rules and a Code of Conduct and Ethics that members need to abide by, since you are also carrying the name and reputation of the OFTA by being a member. Benefits. Some of the benefits our current members enjoy: 3-5 Inquiries per week from event coordinators seeking food trucks for area events; Presence on OFTA website; Information or ideas for commercial kitchen rentals and availability; Access and information about vendors that build or sell carts, trailers or trucks; Best practices for successful food trucks shared by other experienced operators; Periodic member meetings to answer your questions and comradery with industry professionals; Share your concerns; Understand your rights and responsibilities as a business owner; Joining the Oregon Food Truck Association is a way to network with those who care about the food truck industry just as much as you do!
