A special thank you to Provost Ian Clarkson and Councillor Robert Steel for joining us, as well as some of the team members from the Health & Social Care Partnership. northayrshire.carers@ unity-enterprise.com Opening Hours Monday - Friday 9.00am pm The raffle was another overwhelming success, and as well as a brilliant response from Carers, several local business also made generous contributions for the raffle: These included: Simpsinns Nardini s Tesco Morrison s Just So Hair Salon Lloyd s Chemist If you require an appointment out with normal office hours, then please telephone the Carers Centre on in order to arrange this. KEEP UP TO DATE WITH NORTH AYRSHIRE CARERS Change of Circumstances In addition to this, Arran Carers attended a festive lunch at the Auchrannie. 3 Carer s Rights Day 2016 was celebrated at North Ayrshire Carers Centre, and what fun we all had from indoor archery to pin the nose on Rudolph to chair exercises, as well as enjoying a delicious lunch prepared by Lunch To Go. Everyone who came along managed to fully join in with the fun and for those Carers who were coming along to the centre for the first time commented on how welcomed they felt and glad they had attended. A big thanks to Unity Enterprise s Chief Executive, Emma Soanes, who helped out on the day. Fundraising Evening Back in October, a Fundraising Event was held at Irvine Parks Bowling Club. The night turned out to be a brilliant success and we at the Carers Centre would like to thank all those Carers, as well as their friends and families for coming along and supporting us. As well as being a real fun and enjoyable evening, we also raised lots of money too for both Adult and Young Carer Services. So again, a big thank you for your ongoing support. Thank You to.. Over the past four months, the Carers Centre have received many kind and generous donations from various Organisations. These donations will go a long way in supporting and funding Carers activities and events. North Ayrshire Carers were the lucky recipient of funds donated by the Asda Foundation. These funds were the result of winning the green token challenge in the Asda store, Irvine. So a big thanks to Asda shoppers for their support. The Souter Trust presented us with a cheque, to help towards the cost of this year s Christmas Lunches and Young Carers Christmas Activities. North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership raised the sum of from their BIG BREAKFAST EVENT. So a big thank you to them. North Ayrshire Community Sports Awards raised a mammoth for Young Carers. This was presented to Carers Centre staff at an awards ceremony held at the Waterside in Seamill. Tunnock s kindly donated several boxes of assorted treats for Carers Groups. A big thanks goes their way. 3

7 YOUNG CARERS NEWS Thank You! North Ayrshire Young Carers are delighted to have been chosen as the beneficiaries of a recent fundraising event organised by KA Leisure in the Waterside Inn, West Kilbride in association with North Ayrshire Community Sports Awards. They managed to raise a whopping 602, thus enabling us to take our young carer groups to organised sporting events, which will boost their overall wellbeing. Many thanks to KA Leisure on behalf of all at North Ayrshire Young Carers. Deborah & Chris being presented with cheque. Photograph courtesy of Irvine Times. Below is a photo of the cheque being CHRISTMAS presented by ACTIVITIES KA Leisure. Young Carers Christmas Activities were again decided by each of the individual groups and as always some interesting requests were made, with groups settling for activities such as Go-Karting, Bowling, and Laser Quest. It goes without saying each and every one of the Young Carers had a brilliant time not to mention Sheila and Deborah too. FUNDING SUCCESS Above Some photos from Christmas Activities We are pleased to announce that Unity Enterprise successfully secured funds for the Young Carers Service in North Ayrshire. The purpose of this funding is to enable Young Carer Workers to work with groups in the local community.
