Along with the other new officers, I am looking forward to working with all of you. Please feel free to contact me anytime (well, almost anytime) with any ideas, suggestions, or questions you have. Our Awards Dinner was a huge success and as always, Kelley did an outstanding job. Retired Fire Chief John Scherrei was named Citizen of the Year, Mike Perry-Elk of the Year, Bosco Carricaburu-Outstanding Service and Bill Douds received a special award for all he has done to support the Lodge. Congratulations again to all! Judy and I were named Couple of the Year and I received Officer of the Year. We are both grateful and feel very honored. I want to thank all of those who helped this year. It is because of all the behind the scenes people that each event gets bigger and better. The Elks new year starts with the Inaugural Dinner on April 4 th and the is on April 16, 17, and 18. The theme for the and my term is Cowboy Up (step up, take responsibility for your lodge s success). 3 From The Station of the Esteemed Loyal Knight I would like to thank all the people who helped this last year. We have several events coming up this next year and are looking forward to a great year everyone will be proud of. Our goal this year is to get more members involved and have more fun. We are always looking for volunteers, even one event will make a difference. If you have an interest, hobby, or cause, we can find a committee or event that needs you. We are very interested in hearing your ideas on what you believe will make our Lodge a better place. We have our largest events coming up: our is April 16-19th at Live Oak campground, and Old Santa Ynez is coming up June 13th. We also have our Inauguration dinner April 4, come meet your new officers. See you there! 4 Santa Ynez Valley Gals We went out to Liz's home for our March meeting. Had a good time playing cards and of course a good pot luck. Ruth Davis will be our hostess for the May meeting. Just bring a dish to share and some quarters! Wilma Jenssen Wagonairs Camping News Our March campout was at the Atascadero Elks Lodge. We had a good turnout and everybody had a good time. Friday night several of us journeyed up to the Paso Robles Lodge. Had a great dinner there. Some of us had not been there before. It is always nice to visit other lodges when the opportunity happens. We send our condolences to Henry for the loss of his sister in Port Angeles this month. April will soon be here and that means time. Get your registration in to Keith and Judy.
