1 ADMINISTRATION NOTES Dear Kingsway Community, Hello. As we come to the end of February, I feel we have had a reprieve from some of the bad weather experienced by some other areas in our country. I am thankful. Someone in northeast Ohio possibly prayed for a mild winter this year, but so did those who may have experienced bad weather. Were we more righteous than they because we experienced a good winter this year? Of course, the answer is no. God answered the prayer for the person who experienced the bad weather as well as the person who experienced the good weather. In God everything is all good because He is sovereign above all. He loves all, and in everything we should learn to give thanks. Relating this to Kingsway, I find that God is doing some good things in season around here. I am in the position to hear what people are saying about Kingsway who come from the outside. With that new knowledge, the class has decided to start a business centered around making and selling natural soaps. Angie Baer came in and showed the class how to make soaps. It was a great experience and a pretty cool learning tool for the whole class. Our group decided on the name Just Breathe. for the company. The soaps we are making are Peppermint Vanilla, which is made with essential oils and natural oats, and a lavender-scented soap made with organic lavender petals. Like any business, there are different branches and leaders to take care of each of the parts of the business. Those branches are Marketing, Finance, and Manufacturing. The leaders of each of these branches are: Senior, Maddie Kirkbride (CEO), Senior, Quintin Fertig (Marketing Executive), Junior, Ronan Bochart (Finance Director), and Senior, Steven Sexton (Manufacturing Director). One common comment I hear is that the atmosphere of Kingsway is becoming a loving atmosphere. Whether one believes this or not, we have to acknowledge that the focus this year on Keeping Our Love On is on our minds and causing us to think about our actions one to another. I remind students of this who sometimes do some things that do not demonstrate a loving attitude toward others. True love works because God is love. Another way of saying this is Love is God. God who equals love never fails, and as a result of his nature, love never fails either. I taught the students in my former Christian school a song I discovered in a songbook. The title of the song was Charity (Love) Never Faileth. I found myself humming the tune today as I was washing my hands. Then, I thought about the song and realized that love never fails even though it seems like a softer virtue. It is powerful because God is. So, the next time one comes into my office because he or she has forgotten about Keep Your Love On, don t be surprised if I sing the chorus of the song to them or even have them sing it with me. They may never forget that experience and that is the whole point.

3 Events Preparations for the auction are in high gear! As the auction draws near it is important that we have all donations in so that they can be added to our donor list and printed in the auction booklet. If you are planning to make a donation we need to have the item or information about it ASAP! Items that come in the week of the auction cannot be guaranteed to be in the booklet. We are also still in need of volunteers for both Friday and Saturday. Friday we will begin set up in the gym at 9:15, all are welcome to help. There are spots to fill helping with the meal Friday evening, and as runners or child care helpers on Saturday. We will be passing out yard signs on Friday, March 11 after school to advertise the auction. Please consider taking these if you live in a high traffic area. Posters and flyers are available in the lobby by our display. You can be some of our best advertising - take flyers and invite friends and family! Page 3 Get Involved There s still time to contribute to the Wish Tree project sponsored by PTF. Please stop in and take a look to see what items you can donate - they may be items you already have at home or items that will need to be purchased. Take the heart off of the tree if you intend to grant that wish, when you have the item you may give it directly to the teacher or leave it in the office with the heart attached to the item. If you take a heart we ask that the item is brought in by the end of February. If you would like to contribute a monetary donation toward items please send it to the office marked "PTF Wish Tree" Thank you for helping us encourage and bless the amazing teachers and staff here at Kingsway! LESS THAN A MONTH TO GO ** Posters need distributed ** Volunteer positions need filled ** Additional auction items are needed ** Pray for the success of our auction **Talk to businesses about donating items or being a sponsor. These are areas where we are expecting each Kingsway family to jump in and help make this year's auction successful. YOU ARE OUR CONNECTION to many businesses and communities. Please help us get the word out and build excitement for our auction. You could deliver a poster to one or two businesses. Posters will be available Friday, Feb.19, after school in the pick-up line and during the spaghetti dinner and the basketball game. Posters and flyers will also be available in the office. We are in need of volunteers for Friday evening cafeteria helpers and Saturday auction runners and childcare helpers. To volunteer, contact the auction committee or sign-up in the office. WE NEED more auction donations such as electronics, gift certificates, themed baskets, gardening equipment, tools, and ladies pampering items. Please join us in praying that God will bless our efforts for this year s auction.
