After the Nazis invaded Norway in April 1940, Andreas Dahl and his future wife, Gunvor, joined the Norwegian resistance. Andreas helped the British and Americans gather information about the Nazis to coordinate attacks through the Norwegian resistance military section. English planes dropped weapons for the resistance fighters and the Norwegian resistance targeted German ships along the Norwegian coast. Gunvor was a courier and delivered messages between resistance fighters. She was also a nurse in a local hospital. When she heard that the Nazis planned to transport her and nineteen other nurses to northern Norway, the nurses went into hiding. (Alumna Eva Dahl s Parents, continued on page 2)
