2 presents Together in Hope A Conference for Brain Tumor Patients and Their Families August 9-11, 2013 Omni Houston Westside, Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas will bring you a conference designed to answer your questions about the newest research on the causes and treatment of brain tumors, and strategies for dealing with issues faced by brain tumor patients, their loved ones and caregivers. We invite you to join us and take part in an exciting exploration of new therapies and sharing of common experiences. Educational Sponsors: Conference Chair: Associate, MD Anderson Conference Highlights: General sessions will highlight information on pathology, surgery, the newest treatment strategies as well as complementary therapies, and what current research advances can mean for future therapies. Workshop sessions organized into three tracks will allow you to tailor your educational experience to your specific needs. A consulting room is staffed by experienced health professionals for one-on-one sessions to answer your questions. Refresh and refocus in support groups, or stop by the wellness room to experience massage therapy. MD Anderson wants you to receive the significant benefits of being updated with critiques and updates from our brain cancer medical experts.
3 Consulting Room The Consulting Room is designed to provide personal, one-on-one consultations with health professionals who will be available for scheduled sessions to answer your questions and address specific problems or concerns. You can bring copies of your reports or scans for review. The Consulting Room will be available on Friday from 2:15 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Support Groups Friday, 4:00 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 4:30 5:30 p.m. Young Adults with Brain Tumors Men with Brain Tumors Patients & Families Living with Glioblastoma Multiforme Women with Brain Tumors Embracing Change: Understanding Palliative and End-of-Life Care Work-related Concerns: Navigating Employment, Disability, and Insurance Issues Wellness Room Massage therapy will be available Friday, 2:00 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. The chair massages are funded by Angie s Spa, Cancer Foundation Exhibits In the exhibit area you will find information on products and services for brain tumor survivors and families, health professionals, and others interested in brain tumor, disease, treatment, and recovery.
