2 7th Urologic Oncology: Advances in Clinical Practice November 2-3, 2012 Nursing Session November 2, 2012 Urologic Oncology: Nursing Advances in Clinical Practice Focus The 7th Urologic Oncology Conference will focus on the diagnosis, treatment, clinical advances, and controversies in localized and advanced cancers of the bladder, prostate and kidney. Educational Objectives After attending the conference, participants should be able to illustrate and implement clinical advances in the diagnosis and evaluation of bladder, prostate, and kidney cancers (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes); illustrate and implement clinical advances in the treatment approach to localized and locally advanced bladder, prostate and kidney cancers, including the role of minimally invasive robotic surgery (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes); illustrate and implement clinical advances in the treatment approach to metastatic bladder, prostate and kidney cancers (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes); identify contemporary controversies in the management of bladder, prostate and kidney cancers (knowledge). 3 Evaluation A course evaluation form will provide participants with the opportunity to comment on the value of the program content to their practice decisions, performance improvement activities, or possible impact on patient health status. Participants will also have the opportunity to comment on any perceived commercial bias in the presentations as well as to identify future educational topics. Accreditation/Credit Designation Physicians The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center designates this live activity for a maximum of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. CME Certificates and Attendance Verification Certificates Certificates awarding AMA PRA Category 1 Credit TM or certificates documenting attendance will be distributed to participants as they depart the symposium.
