There2 fore, UV2C radiation can be used to generate a useful model for the investigation of the molecular regulatory mechanisms underlying SMCs apoptosis. Key words : smooth muscle cells ; apoptosis ; ultraviolet ; atherosclerosis 3 Present address : Department of Histology and Embryology of the First Military Medical University, Guangzhou
