Modern cosmetics contain various active ingredients or native plant oils that can be susceptible to oxidation in the production process, but also upon storage of the finished product. An efficient protection of these ingredients is important to maintain the quality and guarantee for the cosmetic efficacy of the product. Then stepwise addition of oil at room temperature under forced stirring follows. In this procedure the oil gel is formed. It is very important to add the oil stepwise and very slowly to allow the system to form the gel without to much oil at once. 1/10 oil weight to glycerol weight is recommended for the first 5 10 increments.
