We need students here on-time each day and here all day. The staff and PTA are teaming up to recognize students who are here all day, every day. Each week from now until Christmas one student in each grade will win a $10 gift card to a business in town. To be considered for this gift, the student must be here all day, each day. No class time can be missed. Each week starts off fresh. School hours are 8:05 3:00. Special thanks goes out to our PTA for funding this special event. Sales are usually the first Friday of the month. The Healthy Snack sales are organized by our Student Council. One month during the year each grade is asked to bring items in to be sold and you will be notified in advance. 5th graders are bringing items for the October sale. All items are sold for $0.25 and must come from the approved snack list that is sent home with students in the grade who are supplying the month. 23 Character Assembly 12:30 26 Title I Activity Afternoon 31 Fall Festival Celebration Conferences Be sure to put your child s conference time on your calendar. We take pride in consistently having almost 100% of our parents attend conferences. As parents of OMT students, you should be proud of this statistic also. Conference slips will be sent home on October 10.

2 Sportsmanship The first Character Assembly of the year was held Sept. 27. What an assembly it was with the CHS Drum Line performing and NSU Coach Wicks joined by basketball players performing skits for the students. It was awesome! Pictured are classroom recipients. 3 Fundraiser for Avett Thank you, thank you, thank you to our OMT family! Last week we had three fun days with the donated funds going to OMT student Avett Wigdahl and his family. Avett is an awesome first grader who is battling cancer. You donated $2615 and are amazing! Water Festival 4th graders from across the district attended the Northern Prairie Water Festival Sept. 28. Hands-on activities designed to educate and increase awareness about water. Each student designs a Rain Stick that is judged by a guest panel. PTA Reflections Students are encouraged to participate in the 2017-18 PTA Reflections Contest.

School winners will advance to the City level and City winners advance to the State level. State winners advance to the National level and OMT has had students recently advance to the State level.

Providing dental care to children 0-21 years old who have not seen a dentist in 2 or more years and do not have a dental home. No child is turned away for inability to pay.

OMT is always well represented and students can submit an entry into the following categories: literature, music composition, photography, visual arts, dance and film production. The theme this year is, Within Reach. All entries need to be submitted to the OMT Office by November 1. Dental Van Visit CASSP Dental Program Oct. 30 Nov. 3 Call to set up an appt. Influenza season will soon be here! The influenza vaccine helps protect children from the flu and its complications and decreases the spread of influenza in the community. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that all children (over the age of 6 months) and adults receive a flu vaccine each year. There will be a flu shot clinic (POD) held on October 24 from 2-6 pm at Central High School. This is for CHILDREN ONLY, age 6 months 18 years. NO adults can be vaccinated. It will be FREE of charge. Child must have a consent form signed by a parent/guardian. The consent form for the flu shot clinic at Central High School can be found on the Aberdeen School District web page. Other options for getting your family immunized include checking with your family physician, Horizon Health Care ( ) or various pharmacies in town.
