1 2015/2016 Charité Berlin Specialist for Regeneration in Dental Implantology and Periodontology Curriculum Scientific Directors: Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Dr. med. dent. Bodo Hoffmeister (Charité, Berlin, Germany) Dr. med. Dr. med. dent. Alireza Houshmand (Berlin, Germany)
2 Dear colleagues, Welcome Prof. Dr. Dr. Bodo Hoffmeister - Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Clinical Navigation and Robotics, Charité - University Hospital Berlin - Scientific director of the regeneration academy curriculum Dr. Dr. Alireza Houshmand - Former specialist physician for CMF surgery at Charité, Berlin - Scientific director of the regeneration academy curriculum the regeneration of healthy hard and soft tissue is the fundament for a predictable success of implant procedures, both are inseparably linked. Today, bone augmentation is technically required in more than half of all implant-borne solutions. For this purpose, a multitude of new techniques and materials for hard and soft tissue regeneration have been introduced, allowing the advanced dentist to solve even the most complex cases in his own clinic. Many years of clinical experience and in particular our daily practice in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Charité, one of the biggest and most established clinics worldwide in the field, but also private clinics, have taught us the success factors for a predictable and satisfactory outcome in oral surgery and implantology. Among them a profound knowledge of the principles of tissue regeneration and the knowledge about current treatment concepts and the right indications for regenerative materials are essential for the successful outcome of a treatment, both in implantology and periodontology. Due to the importance of regeneration as critical treatment and success factor, we have developed a clinical and scientific curriculum ( Regeneration Specialist by Charité ) that focuses 100% on dental bone and tissue regeneration to provide you with the necessary concepts, practice and experience; content and knowledge you are not taught in implantology master courses. Prof. Dr. Dr. B. Hoffmeister Dr. Dr. A. Houshmand 2
3 The curriculum Faculty members: Internationally acknowledged and leading experts from universities and private clinics will teach the participants in all aspects of dental bone and tissue regeneration. This curriculum is addressed to implantologists, periodontists and general practitioners. The knowledge will help and guide you in achieving predictable results in your daily clinical practice but also in challenging situations applying still new but already proven techniques. The Curriculum for Specialists in Regeneration is sheduled for two semesters (winter/summer) and comprises 6 intense two-day modules and a seventh module for the final examination, a focused regeneration congress participation and award ceremony. For the initial courses, six of the modules will be held in Berlin, while the anatomical course (module 6) will take place at the University of Graz. Salus et voluntas aegroti suprema lex Certificate of Graduation After successfully passing the final examination is awarded the certificate Specialist for Regeneration in Dental Implantology and Periodontology Charité University Medicine Berlin Prof. Dr. Dr. B.
