The avalable empty unts can be outftted as desred, e.g. wth components from the door communcaton system from the TX_44 swtch desgn range or other functons from the TX_44 or System 55 swtch desgn ranges, such as an automatc swtch or a key swtch. The lghtng element provdes area and gudng llumnaton, e.g. n an entrance area. The Gra energy profle s avalable n dfferent versons n the colours pure whte, anthracte and alumnum. 3 Devce presentaton Here, the 1600 mm-hgh energy profle wth a lghtng element s used as an example for presentaton of the basc desgn: (1) Cover (2) Lghtng element wth dffusng plate (3) Avalable devce unt wth TX_44 frame (4) Alumnum profle (5) Steel profle base Settng up energy profle Attenton The nstallaton and assembly of electrcal equpment may only be performed by a qualfed electrcan. The energy profle s set up drectly on a sold base, e.g. a concrete foundaton Drllng mountng holes Three mountng holes must be drlled before mountng can occur. Due to the lever aspect of the profle, the profle base must be mounted wth the accompanyng heavy-duty plugs. It s mportant here that the drlled holes be absolutely vertcal and exact. Use the accompanyng drllng template for ths. 5 Notes on care Please use only soap suds or a solvent-free, nonabrasve cleanng agent to clean the energy profle. Tp for precse drllng Prevent the drll from movng off course by screwng down the drllng template after the frst hole s drlled. 1. Pre-drll the mountng holes wth a small dameter (approx. 8 mm) usng the drllng template. 2. Open up the holes by drllng them wth a 12 mm bt. 3. Remove drllng dust from the holes. 4. Screw the hexagon bolt (M8 x 55) wth a washer nto the heavy-duty plug untl t stops. 3

4 Outfttng avalable devce unts 5. Hammer the plug nto the drll hole untl t s flush wth the surface. 6. Pretenson the plug wth the hexagon bolt to ensure the stablty of the plug seatng. 7. Unscrew the hexagon bolt from the plug. Settng up profle Condensaton water openng Before mountng the energy profle, open the condensaton water dran at the bottom end of the rear of the profle. For ths purpose, knock out the openng and remove the burr wth a fle. 8. Gude the cables (e.g. power supply) through the profle base. 9. Mount the profle base wth the accompanyng countersunk-head bolts (M8 x 70). 10.Gude the cables nto the accompanyng condut boxes and connect the plastcsheathed cables whch reach the devce unts. 11.Connect the lghtng element (f present). 12.Connect the earth cable of the energy profle to the earth termnal at the profle base. 13.Place the energy profle on the profle base and fasten t wth the sx Allen bolts (M8 x 14). 14.If the energy profle has a lghtng element, nsert the lght. 15.Set the profle cover n place and fasten t wth both cover screws (countersunk Phllpshead, B 3.5 x 9.5). Profle wth no lghtng element For profles wth no lghtng element, all devces and TX_44 cover frames must be mounted before the profle cover s set n place. To keep the profle splash-resstant, the top edge of the TX_44 cover frame must be flush wth the top edge of the profle. Installaton suggeston Prepare the energy profle n your workshop: Install the devces and lay the correspondng plastc-sheathed cables n the condut boxes. Then only the condut boxes need be wred up on ste. The empty unts of the energy profles can be outftted wth components from the TX_44 or System 55 swtch desgn ranges. Integraton of System 55 nserts Inserts from System 55 must be nstalled va a TX_44 adapter plate wth a hnged cover. An overvew of the nserts whch can be combned wth each adapter plate s found n the current Gra catalogue. Please nstall the flush-mounted nserts as follows: 1. Connect the devce nserts. 2. Lay the connecton cables n the condut boxes and attach the cables wth the accompanyng cable te. 3. Ft the nserts wth the accompanyng sealng pans. The profle has markngs to whch the supportng rngs of the devce can be algned. Ths ensures that the frames are nserted later on n such a way whch ensures splash resstance. Specal case: door communcaton Do not mount the flush-mounted nserts of the Gra telecommuncaton system nto the devce nstallaton boxes and sealng pans. 4. Set down the bottom secton of the TX_44 frame and fasten t wth the accompanyng Phllps-head screws (B 3.5 x 16). 5. Ft the central nserts and screw them down f necessary. 6. Attach the adapter plates wth a hnged cover f necessary. 7. Clp on the cover plate of the frame and press n the Torx screws. 4

5 Connectng up energy profle Secure electrcal separaton In accordance wth VDE 0100 and VDE 0800, cables and devces operated wth protectve low voltage must be lad/nstalled separate from cables and devces whch carry the mans voltage (230 V). For ths reason, allow the nsulaton of the cables to extend as close as possble to the devces to be connected and, f necessary, pull the accompanyng slcone sheath over one of the cables. Ths ensures that the cables are separated as specfed. Use the accompanyng devce nstallaton boxes f necessary. Ths ensures that the nstalled devces are separated as specfed. Specal case: door communcaton Do not mount the flush-mounted nserts of the Gra telecommuncaton system nto the devce nstallaton boxes and sealng pans. Earth connecton Energy profles wth lghtng elements and energy profles whch contan devces powered by 230 V must be earthed. The energy profles have the followng earth termnals: Devce connecton Due to the varablty of the energy profle, all flush-mounted devces from the TX_44 or System 55 swtch desgn range can be ntegrated. For ths reason, please refer to the respectve operatng nstructons accompanyng each devce for nformaton on how each devce s connected. Handlng the low-voltage termnals Cables whch carry low voltage and have a lead dameter < 0.9 mm can be wred va the accompanyng low-voltage termnals. For ths purpose, the nsulated leads are nserted nto the termnals and the termnals are pressed closed wth plers. Lghtng element connecton The connecton cables of the lghtng element extend down to the condut box. Connect the lghtng element n a condut box wth the accompanyng termnals. The lghtng element s earthed va the termnal n the condut box. The lghtng element s also connected to the profle. An earth cable extends down to the profle base. Connect ths cable to the profle base. If devces powered by 230 V are nserted nto the empty unts, the power profle must also be earthed. An addtonal earth termnal s avalable for ths near the devce unt. Connect ths to the earth cable of the 230 V devce. 5

6 Installng/replacng lght A compact fluorescent lamp wth E27 threadng s used as the lght n the energy profles. More detaled nformaton on permssble lghts s found n the "Techncal data" chapter on Page Page 7. To nstall or replace the lght, proceed as follows: 1. Loosen both cover screws (countersunk Phllps-head, B 3.5 x 9.5) and remove the profle cover. 2. Pull the dffusng plate upward from the gude. 3. Insert the lght. 4. Rensert the dffusng plate from above (please note the "TOP FRONT" labellng). 5. Set the profle cover n place and fasten t wth both cover screws. Insertng slats Usng the optonally avalable slats, the lghtng element of the energy profle can be used for targeted object or path llumnaton. To use the slat element and the accompanyng transparent plate, proceed as follows: 1. Loosen both cover screws and remove the profle cover. 2. Pull the dffusng plate upward from the gude. 3. Rensert the transparent plate from above (please note the "TOP FRONT" labellng). 4. Insert the slat element: Slats drected upward, e.g. for object llumnaton. Lght dameter The energy profles can accept compact fluorescent lamps wth a base dameter up to 52 mm. If a slat element s used, the base dameter s reduced to max. 48 mm! Slats drected downward, e.g. for path llumnaton. 5. Set the profle cover n place and fasten t wth both cover screws. Transparent plate/dffusng plate The slat element can be used wth ether the transparent plate or the frosted dffusng plate. 6
