Recieved: 18 Jnury 2016 Accepted: 22 June 2016 Summry Glucocorticoids hve een used in lrge niml medicine for treting severl disorders. But esides their therpeutic dvntges, they hve different side effects. Metolic disturnces my e considered importnt following the dministrtion of glucocorticoids ecuse of their disdvntge in lrge niml medicine. Ten cliniclly helthy Holstein clves (6-8 months old) were ssigned into 2 equl groups. Dexmethsone nd isoflupredone were dministered in ech group seprtely t 1 mg/kg, on two consecutive dys. Blood smples were tken t dys 0 (1st drug dministrtion), 1 (2nd drug dministrtion), 2, 3, 5 nd 7, from ll studied nimls. Glucose, β-hydroxyutyric cid, nonesterified ftty cid, cholesterol, triglyceride nd high, low nd very low density lipoprotein concentrtions were detected in seprted ser. All studied metolic iomrkers significntly incresed fter oth drugs dministrtions (<0.05). The concentrtions of circulting metolic iomrkers in isoflupredone treted group were significntly higher thn the other one (<0.05). Dexmethsone nd isoflupredone cn interfere with metolic pthwys y severl mechnisms in Holstein clves. The dt presented here cn id veterinrins to mke etter decision on using the glucocrticoids in lrge niml medicine.
