Professional sport players MONOLOGUE Many people are outraged by the money that certain football clubs pay in order to sign top players. Have you ever tried any extreme sport? Which ones are winter sports? Which sport is easier in your opinion? Which one is the most dangerous? Would you be afraid of getting hurt? What sports and hobbies have you not tried yet but would like to? Why do people do extreme sports? Because of the adrenaline rush Because they want to push themselves to the limit Because extreme sports are fun When was the last time you did something unusual but memorable? What was the best moment of it? What was the worst moment? What was the funniest moment?

WRITING INFORMAL STYLE A LETTER OR DESCRIBING AN EVENT Descriptions of festivals, events (e.g. concerts, sport competitions ) and celebrations (e.g. a wedding) can be found in articles for magazines, newspapers and travel brochures (in this case they are written in formal style) or as part of letters and s (in this case they are written in informal style). What s its format? SALUTATION TAG - Dear (First Name), Sender s Address Date (only in letters!) PARAGRAPH 1 Opening Sentence (e.g. How are you? Sorry, I haven t written for ages but I have been busy at work.) Reasons for writing PARAGRAPHS 2, 3, 4 Name of the event, where/when/why it takes place Preparations for the event (e.g. food, decorations, etc) Description of the event (e.g. costumes, music, dancing, other activities, etc) FINAL PARAGRAPH Feelings, comments and final thoughts Closing Sentence (e.g. Well, that s all for now.
