3 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT NEWS DeJuan Jordan, Professional Development Director, Stop the Madness National, Inc If you are like me, I often find it difficult to balance work-life- family and everything else that life has to offer. Each year on January 1, I say to myself, DeJuan, this year is going to be different. You are going to go to work, get off on time, prioritize your tasks, exercise daily, eat healthier, spend more time with family and friends, take more vacations and so on. Each year by January 12 th,, I have already accumulated 12 days of failed attempts to keep my word. (Oh the shame ) There is a quote that reads, Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life. Wow...the wisdom that this quote possesses. Yet, I, like so many others can acknowledge the quotes timeless truth. Then, the phone rings and someone has a problem that they expect for you to resolve; the children have a science project due in the morning that they claim they just found out about, the project manager calls in sick with only one day left to meet the deadline I m sure that you get the picture. Well if you can relate to what seems to be my life story, then you do not want to miss our February EWI Monthly Meeting. Christin McWhorter with It Matters Wellness will be the speaker for the upcoming February 7, 2017 meeting. Christin will be discussing the importance of achieving work-life balance, how not achieving it can affect your overall well-being, and providing tips on how to better manage your work and your life! Hope to see you there. WHAT IS IT MATTERS WELLNESS? Healthy People. Healthy Families. Healthy Communities It Matters Wellness is a community initiative that is designed to assist individuals to improve their overall health. It Matters Wellness offers the community a comprehensive program with a specific focus on building healthy communities and a culture to promote and support life-long healthy habits.
