I know that during a renovation emotions can get high due to things being unorganized. But I want to remind you that renovations will only be for a short period of time and would like to reiterate that while things might appear to be messier than usual, this will not last a long time. We are working as fast as we can to get the renovations completed for you to enjoy. Ultimately, these improvements are being done for you, our residents. We want you to be proud of your community and enjoy where you live. I am confident that once these renovations are completed all of the residents are going to enjoy these upgrades. So again, thank you for your patience while these changes are taking place. Our mission is to provide an atmosphere of respect, comfort and grace, where quality of life is of the utmost importance. I personally can t wait for you to see the finished product. - Tina Overton Manager Bondurant Pleasant Hill 601 Hawthorne Crossing Drive SE 6132 NE 12th Avenue Bondurant, Iowa Pleasant Hill, Iowa Phone: Phone: Page 1
2 Bondurant News Janet s Message Janet Lewis/Life Enrichment Coordinator. This is my job and I take it very seriously. This being said, I am here to make sure you are living your life to the fullest at the community of Courtyard Estates. So when activities are taking place please join in and participate. Don t wait for me to always come get you out of your room. When we go on trips be mindful to the fact that I have a job and we can t shop all day or play all day even though it would be fun. We are going through changes right now with the improvements to the building and we need to keep in mind that when you are talking to your neighbor everyone around you can hear you. So please keep your words kind. Show respect and gratitude to everyone who is working to make our community a nicer one. You all are so kind to me so I know that you can be kind to others and each other. I have new activities that are starting in June. Hand therapy will be held by me once a month. This will also be a great time for one on one conversation with me. We will also be having day trips once a month. Where we pack a bag and just go for the day. I will have both of these on the calendar. You may want to have a bag ready for our trips. Be sure to include your sunscreen and a water bottle. Our indoor entertainment has been exciting. Thank you for working with me while we go through a variety of entertainment acts to see what our options are. Dare to Dreams are also once a month so please share any ideas you may have for a Dare to Dream outing. I genuinely care about your quality of life so I won t let you sit and mope. I won t listen to you disrespect anyone. I will help lift your spirits if you are down. I will do my best to make everyday fun and entertaining for you. Above all I will look out for your health and make sure you are safe. Please keep this especially in mind when we are on trips. New and exciting things are happening at our community so embrace them with a great attitude. We must learn live together as brothers and sisters or we perish as fools -Respectfully, Janet Lewis/LEC Welcome Casey Jeske We would like to welcome Casey Jeske to the Courtyard Coordinator Team. We will be honoring our Father s on Friday, June 15th with a barbeque lunch at 11:30.Please join us, it will be a fun time. We are looking forward to getting our courtyard area ready for summer. We will be painting our planter containers and putting in our vegetables. Many of our residents love to be outside and enjoy the sunshine whether it be relaxing, walking or socializing. 4 Mother s Day Courtyard Estates at Pleasant Hill had a fantastic Mother s Day. About 50 family members came to celebrate Mother s Day with us. We had a very good lunch and music provided by Scott Wilson. There was dancing and celebrating all of our mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers, sisters and others. We honored these wonderful ladies with a beautiful reading and a special flower. The staff was very honored to help celebrate Mother s Day with the residents that we call family. I would like to send out a huge Thank You, to the families that came to our community to help us celebrate Mother s Day with our moms. Everyone had a great day and enjoyed the great food. In honor of our moms we planted knockout rose bushes. The residents are since enjoying watching them grow and will be able to enjoy them for years to come. We love our moms and there is no greater love than that of a mom. Thank you all for helping make their day special. Page 4
