2 We invite you to attend the 2019 AFP Winter Seminar in Deadwood,. This year s schedule is an incredible CME offering that includes both local and national speakers. We have a variety of topics that are as diverse as the scope of family medicine. Please encourage your physician colleagues, PAs and CNPs who provide primary care to attend our conference. There are two speakers returning from last year s conference at the request of many attendees. Louis Kurtizky, MD and Jim Painter, PhD, RD were both favorites last year and both wanted to return because they enjoyed the conference and the welcoming atmosphere. Our conference is family friendly and we will provide activities for your family while you are busy in session. Activities will include pool parties, social gatherings and lots of food! There are many activities available in the Northern Black Hills including skiing, snowmobiling and sightseeing! We ll bring the fun, you bring the family. Andrew Ellsworth, MD, AFP President John S. Cullen, MD, FAAFP, AAFP President will be our guest speaker at the 2019 President s Reception on Friday evening, February 1, He has practiced the full scope of family medicine in a rural community of 4,000 people in Alaska for the last 21 years. Cullen works in a small group practice and is director of emergency medical services at Providence Valdez Medical Center. We look forward to welcoming him to South Dakota!
