9 Programs & Services In education programs & 12 collaborative teleconferences 97% of our programs were completely underwritten Over 175 face-to-face interactions with 125 clinicians Increased client base by 19% (8,827 people with MS) We submitted the Saint Thomas Center for MS Treatment for consideration as a MS Center of Comprehensive Care Pharma revenue increased by 168% (from $27,169 to $72,820) 64 newly diagnosed clients were engaged 2 scholarships were awarded totaling $2,000 Distributed 50+ holiday gift baskets to people with MS Bear sales increased 2%; total $23,185 utilized to underwrite our financial assistance outreach.

12 INFORMATION REFERRAL SERVICE (IRC)

13 Information Referral Center (IRC) The IRC, based in Denver, CO, is staffed by a team of MS Navigators who are licensed clinical social workers or licensed professional counselors. The IRC is often the first point of contact for individuals and family members who are seeking information because of a new MS diagnosis. Navigators answer an average of 160 phone calls per month from the Mid South Chapter and mail approximately 50 packets of information per month. In addition to general information, the IRC routinely handles crisis calls that require immediate response.

25 Current or recently funded research in the Mid South Chapter Vanderbilt University Medical Center Narayan Bhat, Ph.D. -Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology Exploring the association between specific genetic variation and the development of MS $33,000 (ended in August) Saint Jude Children s Research Hospital Hongbo Chi, Ph.D. - Department of Immunology Investigating interactions of the molecule that may have the capacity to turn off the immune attack in MS $117,731 (ongoing) Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Fanglin Zhang, M.D., Ph.D. - Department of Neurology Determining how interferons alter MS-related immune activity for clues to improving current treatments for MS $156,515 (ended in June)
