4 4 THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING FALL EVENTS MS CONNECTION: WINTER 2015 FALL CRUSH KNOXVILLE FALL CRUSH NASHVILLE Fall Crush Nashville took place on Sunday, October 18th at the Green Door Gourmet s Grand Barn. The event, headed by committee chairs Paul Lindsley and Julia Baker, was a great success, nearly doubling the amount raised for MS from the previous years event. With a locally sourced dinner prepared by Nashville s finest celebrity chefs, wine flown in exclusively from Carneros Region, and a fantastic live and silent auction, it was a night to remember. We are incredibly excited to report the event raised almost $77,000 towards the important MS research happening right here in Tennessee! Fall Crush Knoxville was held at The Stables at Hunter Valley Farm on Thursday, November 12th. With wine donated by Purple Wine & Spirits, a high end silent auction, and food prepared by the culinary students from Pellissippi State Community College, this year s event was a beautiful success. We are so pleased to announce that, for the first time, Fall Crush Knoxville officially sold out! With amazing sponsors and very hard work done by the different committee members, we were able to double the income from last year and raise over $25,000. Thank you to all who came out to enjoy this unique wine experience with us; we can t wait for next year!
5 NATIONALMSSOCIETY.ORG On Thursday, December 3rd, we celebrated the 17th annual Chattanooga MS luncheon. Formerly known as Women Against MS, the On The Move luncheon brought together the area s MS community in solidarity to fight multiple sclerosis. Led by chairwoman, Kim Leffew, the event featured a variety-filled silent auction, cake giveaway and absolutely breathtaking musical performance by the event s speaker, Kristi Salerno-Kent. Kristi lives with multiple sclerosis and spoke to her experiences with the disease in both her personal and professional life. It was an empowering event that brought the audience to their feet! This year s event raised over $20,000 for MS programs. 5 For one weekend in both September and October, the highways and and streets of Tennessee were filled with a powerful MS presence. Between the Bike MS: FedEx Rock n Roll ride from Memphis to southern Mississippi and the Bike MS: Bike to Jack & Back from Nashville to Lynchburg, almost 800 cyclists pedaled for 150 miles over two days for MS. With our final numbers in, Jack & Back raised over $615,000 and Rock n Roll made over $250,000 to stop MS in its (tread) tracks. Thank you to all who came out as riders, volunteers, and sponsors to make Bike MS the state s greatest fundraising success!
