2 Rock-a-thon Fundraiser Overview: Who? This event features cultural entertainment, vendors, children s games, special holiday treats and food. During this event, various organizations will engage in a rocking-chair marathon in order raise money benefit the organization s heritage education programs What? Teams commit keeping their chair rocking (with a participant in it!) for five (5) hours. Rockers gather sponsors, with a minimum sponsorship of $100 per organization. In addition keeping that chair rocking, we are asking that each group work raise a minimum of $500. There will be food, games, prizes, music, activities, and of course, it wouldn t be a Rock-a-Thon without the voice of the world renowned Joe Bullard, of 96.1FM Jamz, as MC help kick-off the holiday season! When? Saturday, Arrive at 9:30 A.M. Rock from 10:00 A.M. Depart at 3:00 P.M. Where? Florida A&M University Jake Gaither Gymnasium 500 Wahnish Way, Tallahassee, Florida How? The Rock-a-Thon features thirty (30) organizational rocking chair sponsors. Each organization is responsible for soliciting monetary pledges, museum memberships and individuals represent their organization during the five-hour rocking chair marathon, with a special focus on getting youth groups involved and participating, where possible. Live entertainment is provided during the event and vendors make possible an opportunity for holiday shopping that supports locally owned businesses. Why? The 2012 Rock-a-Thon is purposed raise a minimum of $20,000 off-set expenses associated with museum maintenance, operations, educational and community outreach programs. An initial donation of $100 guarantees a chair for your organization participate in the Rock-a-thon. At the end of the day the p three (3) fundraising organizations will be recognized with a cash prize support a charity of their choice. The names of the winning organizations will also be embossed on rocking chairs that are prominently displayed on the porch of the hisric Riley Museum for an entire year.

Please consider sponsoring me for this event. Donations of $20 or more are encouraged, although any donation amount would be greatly appreciated.
