2 Page 2 Membership Report Betsy Rothwell There were 69 members at the February 2015 meeting. There are 186 members in the Probus Club of Huntsville, with a cap of 200 members. If you have friends who would like to join Probus, there are 14 openings, so this is a good time to apply. The application form is on our website under the Contact Us tab. April Guest Speaker Linda Gillis Davidson, retired RCMP Officer. Her topic will be My Career

3 Page 3 Friday, April 17, 2015, 3:30 to 7:30 PM. The price is $36.00, which includes two games of bowling, equipment rental, and dinner. Provided that we can sell 48 tickets, it will be a private party. It will be held at the Huntsville Bowl, #2A McCann Street in Brendale Square. Unfortunately, the location is not handicapped accessible. Audrey Coutts will be selling tickets at the March meeting. Outing to the OPP Canine Training facility in Gravenhurst. Thursday, May 10:30 AM. For lunch we will be going to The Blue Willow Tea Shop. Total cost is $25.00 (This includes tax, gratuities and a $5.00 donation to the OPP.) Tickets will be available from Gloria Anderson at the March, April and May meetings.

A second June activity has not been confirmed but it is "in the works". 7 Page 7 Bid Euchre 2 Susan Magee is trying to start a second bid euchre group to meet at members homes on a rotating basis. Meeting time will be decided by the group. New this year is a snowbird group (May- Oct.) and a group capped at 10. Groups meet once a month for the year, rotating hosts. The host provides the main dish and sets the theme if any. The rest select or are assigned dishes to complete the meal. Members provide their own beverage. A fun way to interact with members of your club. There is space available in several groups If you would still like to join a group.

8 Page 8 Duplicate Bridge Contact: Beryl Clayson clayson@cogeco.ca Meets at the Claysons on the 4th Monday of each month at 1:00 pm. In order for them to prepare, please contact Beryl & Paul Clayson at least a day before the date, if you wish to play. Although we have about 30 regular members, we can still use a few more, especially couples, since there is a preponderance of ladies or a lack of gentlemen at present. ipad Club Contact: Lynn Todgham ldtodgham@bell.net This group meets at Lynn s home on the 4 th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM. The next meeting will be March 26. The topic will be reading and purchasing books on the ipad, how to get a group account that saves you money and where to search for free books. Please let Lynn know if you are attending or if you are interested on being on her notification list. Photography Contact: Ken Koehler kkoehler@vianet.ca The next get-together of the Probus Photo Group will be at 2:00 pm on Friday May 29th. Ken and Barb will be hosting at their Huntsville Condo Dairy Lane, Suite 101. Since it's been such a long cold winter, our theme will be "Looking for Spring!" This theme should provide us all with lots of scope -- both for those of us who have given up and headed for warmer climes, and those hardy souls that are staying in the area and are so looking forward to the first green shoots, spring flowers, flowing streams, song birds or whatever else that heralds the arrival of Spring! If you cannot appear in person, ed images to kkoehler@vianet.ca are always welcome. And if you'd just like to see what the Photo Group is all about, please feel free to come along as a spectator!

9 Page 9 Wine Appreciation Contact: Jeff and Ann Cox jeffcox88@gmail.com We meet once a month, usually in the late afternoon as a group of 12 or less in a member s home. Each person pays $15 to the host who is responsible for choosing and buying the wine for that month as well as providing simple appetizers. There is a final get together of everyone at which we choose our favorite wine of the year. This group is organized much like the dining in groups, where people who are away a number of months will be spread throughout the groups, so "snowbirds" can join in. This is a wonderful way to get to know people. In 2015 the meetings will run until November.
