2 BUILDING COMMUNITY Two are be er than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will li up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to li him up! Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 LIVING THE MISSION Go therefore and make disciples of all na ons, bap zing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. Ma hew 28:19-20
3 What are MHCC Groups? MHCC Groups are small groups who meet regularly to share a common interest, discussion topic, or curriculum. Mount Helena Community Church is commi ed to connec ng people both to Jesus and to a community of people around them. These connec ons are at the heart of our vision to build community and live the mission. This vision is carried out in our daily lives and in our gatherings, large and small. Whether a group involves fun ac vi es, serious study, or serving together, each is meant to connect people at MHCC. Understanding the levels can help you find groups that are a good fit for you. Each group is categorized into one of the following levels, based on time commitment and/or intensity of curriculum: MINIMAL COMMITMENT LEVEL 1 groups are casual and light-hearted gatherings to get to know people in our community. Members can come and go, and do not necessarily need to RSVP. These groups are based around an ac vity or shared interest, and there is no curriculum or study involved. MODERATE COMMITMENT LEVEL 2 groups require a li le bit more of you. Members may need to RSVP if the group involves childcare, a meal, or a group ac vity to coordinate. These groups are based around an interest, ac vity, or curriculum. Curriculum will be able to be jumped into at any me and members won t feel as though they ve fallen behind if they miss a few weeks.
4 HIGH COMMITMENT LEVEL 3 groups will be pursuing a common interest, or going through a book or curriculum on a specific schedule. Topics of study and ac vi es may be more detailed or challenging than in a moderate group. Members understand that they need to a end as many of the group gatherings as possible, and should communicate absences to the leader. Members who do not do the reading, or who miss several mee ngs or ac vi es will fall behind. MINISTRY TEAMS LEVEL 4 groups are the ministry teams at MHCC. We believe one of the best ways to get to know people is to serve alongside them. Our teams of volunteers are what make our ministries possible and there is always room for another helping hand! Once you sign up, you will be contacted by a leader of that ministry team regarding their applica on, training, and scheduling processes. Feel free to contact a leader before signing up if you have ques ons about their ministry. If you are already on a team listed, you do not need to sign up again. What is the schedule? Each group has its own time, start date, frequency, and duration. You can find start dates and mee ng mes in this menu. Groups meet regularly but may take me off due to holidays or other conflicts. Please contact the group leader if you have further ques ons about when their group meets.
