2 LIGHT UP THE WORLD ACCESS TO ENERGY CHANGES LIVES There are 1.3 billion people in the world that do not have access to electricity. Light Up The World (LUTW) is working to change that by providing sustainable energy to remote communities as a catalyst for sustainable development. Many people living in rural villages are living in poverty and when the sun sets, people have to find other ways to light their homes so they can cook, study and work. Sustainable energy and clean light at the flick of a switch can help families save money, live in a safer and healthier home environment, and expand opportunities for education and economic development. Working in some of the most remote and undeserved areas in the world, LUTW trains local technicians and builds the capacity of local service providers to transition to a sustainable future. LUTW has worked with over 220 partner organizations to bring solar power to almost 1.5 million people in 54 countries, but there is still much work to be done. Support for LUTWʼs programs is met through donations received from individuals, service groups, foundations and through collaborative partnerships with corporate and educational leaders. The incredible ongoing support of the community helps us to create opportunities for a brighter future for everyone. GALA FUNDRAISER Join us on Thursday, November 24th, 2016 at TELUS Spark Science Centre in Calgary to celebrate the 2nd Annual Dinner in the Dark Gala in support of Light Up The World. The gala will be hosted by Calgary's Dave Kelly and include a three course dinner, a live auction, Peruvian crafts and a unique opportunity to have an impact on families living in energy poverty.

3 Dear members of the community: LUTW is continuing in its efforts to transform lives with energy with its second with an annual fundraising gala. There are several ways that you can help us support the Dinner in the Dark Gala: Become a sponsor as outlined in the enclosed sponsorship package. Purchase event tickets (individually or by the table). Each table holds a maximum of eight people. Donate an item to our live or silent auction. This is an opportunity for you to identify your company within the gala. The Dinner in the Dark Gala is being held on November 24th, 2016 at Telus Spark in Calgary. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails, followed by a served three-course dinner hosted by Calgaryʼs Dave Kelly. The dress code for this event is business casual. Sponsorship levels can be purchased by filling out the sponsorship form on the last page of this package. Tickets and donations can also be purchased or donated using this form. You can also go online to the Light Up The Worldʼs website at to register and become a sponsor, make a donation, purchase your tickets and get all the details on the event.
