Al Riggle for meeting with Pam Wooten, Faculty Advisor for JES K-Kids. 4. Georgianna Elliott and Al Riggle for conducting the BUG Orientation at AES. 5. Al Riggle for meeting with Mike Everett to plan implementation of the Reach Out and Read Program in Scott County and for conducting a Kiwanis new member orientation with him. 6. Katie Sawin, Tammi Staser, Eric Mullins and Al Riggle for attending the VFES K-Kids Meeting.! 2
3 7. Don Cooper, Lisa Sutton and Al Riggle for attending the SMS Builders Club Meeting and for presenting the $100 prize money for the Kiwanis 5K. 8. Al Riggle for speaking at the SHS 911 Commemoration Ceremony. Serve meal. Speaker: The scheduled speaker was not able to attend. Upcoming Events: Sep: Scottsburg United Methodist Church pancake breakfast to benefit CASA, 7-10 am Sep: Patriots Day Flag Team Sep: Riley Kids Committee Meeting at Riley Hospital for Children,11:00 am - 1:00 pm Sep: Tent rental, Jeff Chase. Set up Friday, 16 Sep; take down Sunday, 18 Sep Sep: Sam Quinones, Author of Dreamland. Breakfast for Kiwanis members, pastors and other community leaders at Scott Memorial Hospital, 8:30 am 9:45 am. The Scottsburg Kiwanis Club will set up the tent, tables and chairs, and will grill hot dogs. Volunteers and a grill are needed. Darryl Smith and David Wilson have volunteered Sep: Kiwanis New Officer Installation Dinner, 6:30 pm, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home. RSVP to Al Riggle by 19 Sep. Lexington Elementary School is collecting plastic bottle caps, such as soft drinks, laundry detergent, prescriptions, etc., for a picnic table. Please bring the caps to the Kiwanis Weekly Meeting and tell your friends and family about this project. People may also drop off the bottle caps at Goin Postal or the Visitors Commission office. Since this project requires no expenditure of funds and little time, I hope that everyone will participate! With this project LES has been able to obtain 3 "Buddy Benches". RSVP to Al Riggle by 19 Sep. Tickets $15.00 per person. Members of the Scottsburg Kiwanis Club are encouraged to bring their spouse, other family members and friends to the weekly meetings. Dinner is $12 for members. First time guests are free. There a dozen dinner choices, plus side items and deserts. Next Board of Directors Meeting: Thursday, 4 Oct 2016, immediately after the Weekly Meeting at The Hill Bar and Grill Board meetings are for officers, directors and committee chairs.
