A future in which our businesses can connect to the opportunities they need to grow. A future in which our economy can adapt and evolve as quickly as the world around us. Our commitment to a strong transportation strategy today will lay the foundation for a thriving Central Florida.

3 Why transportation, why now? Because access to transportation improves our quality of life. High-frequency public transportation raises residential property values up to 42%.* A two-person household saves almost $10,000 a year by downsizing to one car.* Following implementation of our strategies, Orlando experienced a 3% decrease in travel time due to congestion in 2016.** *American Public Transportation Association, Public Transportation Fact Book 2016 **TomTom Traffic Index 2016

4 The work of the Central Florida Transportation Task Force is important to our shared future and will be long remembered as a significant starting point to moving Central Florida forward. Whether it s employment, health, safety, security, prosperity, education, training, recreation or leisure activities, our regional transportation decisions must now be part of a bigger plan, part of a shared regional vision for Central Florida.

5 Three Steps to a Singular Vision RECOMMENDATION #1 Championing and Advancing Private and Public Projects Establish an Alliance for Regional Transportation (ART), convening business and civic leaders committed to championing and advancing an improved multi-modal regional transportation system.

6 RECOMMENDATION #2 New Ways to Move Forward Addressing Current and Future Needs Establish a Committee for Change, inviting representatives from businesses, chambers of commerce, economic development agencies, trade associations, business organizations and various civic groups to help leaders chart a path for financing the infrastructure necessary to advance our prosperity and quality of life. RECOMMENDATION #3 Responding to Concerns Safety, Cybersecurity and Counterterrorism Promote policies and initiatives that keep our streets, neighborhoods and family of communities safe; knowing that the continuous protection of our residents and visitors is essential to our quality of life and economic prosperity.

7 Our Vision is as Big as Our Opportunity By working together, we can dramatically impact our shared future, so begins the Central Florida Growth Compact, which was created to help our region continue to be a great place to live, learn, work and play while also providing a shared vision for our family of communities. Adopted on August 11, 2017, this effort was the culmination of How Shall We Grow? an award-winning regional project that helped to galvanize 86 cities and seven counties into one region the Central Florida Region now the 20th largest regional economy in the country. Working together has become a part of our regional culture, combining talents of individuals and organizations to better address the many challenges we face as a community while welcoming the exciting opportunities now heading our way. As stated in the Growth Compact, the Orlando Economic Partnership, and through the Central Florida Transportation Task Force: We celebrate the diversity of our people, our economy and our communities as we look toward a shared future; we acknowledge our rich heritage, our distinctive places and our precious environment and we pledge to preserve the best of these resources for future generations.
