3 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Dear colleagues, it is a great pleasure for me to invite you to participate in the 14 th National Congress of the Hellenic Society of Nephrology, which will be held from the 31 st of May to the 3 rd of June 2006, in Porto Carras Resort, in Chalkidiki, Greece. Chalkidiki peninsula is characterized as a paradise living and breathing under the serene and imposing shade of Mount Athos. It is a place, that substantially expresses Greece through time and the secrecy of the Holy Mount, without limits and restrictions. We believe that nephrology covers almost all the spectrum of internal medicine, so the congress will focus on a great variety of subjects concerning current nephrology, cardiology, endocrinology (diabetes melitus), haematology and systemic diseases. A great number of invited speakers from Europe and the Americas will share their knowledge and expertise with the participants. On the other hand, the congress will provide you an opportunity to enjoy yourself with a pleasant and interesting social program. Looking forward to welcoming you in Greece. Georgios A. 5 GENERAL INFORMATION CONGRESS VENUE AND DATES The 14 th National Congress of Nephrology, 31/05-03/ , will take place in Porto Carras Resort in Chalkidiki peninsula, where the Summitt of E.C. leaders was held in June PORTO CARRAS RESORT, Chalkidiki - Greece Tel: , Fax: , Web site: LANGUAGE Greek is the official language of the congress. Simultaneous translation will be in English. EXHIBITION A commercial exhibition will operate from Wednesday, May 31 st, till Saturday, June 3 rd. Access is free to registered participants.
