2 Adolescent Health Update Conference Objectives Restate the current Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations for adolescent vaccines, explain the benefits of adolescent vaccines and implement 1 new strategy to improve adolescent vaccination rates in the office. List special considerations for the teen parent. Indicate the basic areas of the brain involved in addiction. Identify CDC guidelines for contraceptive initiation and management with the use of technology. Strategize difficult real-life adolescent health dilemmas with specialists in that area. Describe the different manifestations of disordered eating, including the diagnostic criteria for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and obesity.

3 Identify symptoms associated with syncope and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) and the causes of chest pain in adolescent population. Recognize the typical and atypical clinical findings associated with rheumatic diseases in adolescent patients.
