Need to revise policy to reflect attempts to contact the homegroup to see if there is a problem and how the area could help them to be able to attend ASC. Two volunteers are going to the meetings that aren t attending ASC to find out if they have a problem and how we could help. We do Recover a Review of minutes for October Vote: Chair Report Dear Area Service Committee members, I am resigning as ASC chair due to an unexpected illness. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve at the Area level. I have learned so much about the Narcotics Anonymous service structure, the traditions, and about myself. I love all of you and will return as soon as I am able. I will continue to carry the message into the jail and the hospital. Thank you Andrew for guiding me and helping me in every role I have served at Area. Thank you all for your love and your support and your prayers. ILS, Dawn K. Co-Chair Report Absent RCM Report RCM REPORT for 11/4/18 Hello family, You all missed a great conference at Va. Beach. It was informative and a great time with 35 at our round table discussions. The hotel was awesome and the fellowship and networking phenomenal. Region nominated and voted in a new Speaker jam person. Her name is Erin from Peninsula area. Open region positions are: vice treasurer, PR, and RD position is closed with a nomination of Dee P. Please take this nomination to your home groups and bring back your vote for the December region vote. There are some proposals to take to your home groups also Motion 185-2:Currently our guidelines are silent as to who is responsible for scheduling subcommittee meeting locations and how far in advance they should be scheduled. Intent: To

3 establish a single point of accountability to ensure that subcommittee meetings are scheduled sufficiently in advance to allow them to be publicized. Change From: Subcommittees except for speaker jam will rotate their meetings throughout the four quadrants. The venue for the meeting shall be consistent for at least one two year World Service Conference cycle Such locations must have Wi Fi suitable for video conferencing and must be handicap accessible. Work with the RCM in various quadrants to secure a meeting space within their quadrants for the subcommittee meetings. The vice chair has scheduled meetings for the next year, the next meeting will be Nov. 17, at Poquoson Baptist Church Wythe Creek Rd Poquoson, VA at 2:30. RD team will do workshops on questionnaire on region inventory. I gave you a copy of the questions, go ahead with prioritizing your answers so your not influenced by region. H&I Report Good Day Family, I have made an error; I will not be able to attend the PR Workshop, as I am leaving that morning going to Florida to see my brothers. I

4 sincerely apologize for my error. As far as the H&I meetings, all meetings have been well attended, and I did get the books into both facilities that were received last month. I was also contacted by Scott K. and December will be his last month of service, this does leave a gap in our schedule/calendar as he was covering the first Monday and the fifth Monday at the hospital. Mark was going with him also from South Boston area, and I will have an opportunity to chat him tomorrow to see if he is going to continue to serve. I am asking that everyone please take back to your home groups that we need members (men and women) available Monday from 6:30-7:30 to carry the meeting into the hospital, addicts that are interested need to know that the orientation for this will be setup to be the same day as their first day of service, the orientation will be from 5:30-6:30 on Monday whatever date I have members that have the willingness and also meet requirements per H&I policy (6 month clean to attend, 1 year clean to chair) and if they have been patients, they must discharged from the facility for 1 year(this is facility policy. Living Clean the Journey Continues won YAH! Everyone s chili was delish! We brought in $90.00 after giving the church a $25.00 donation for the use of the facility. I have sent texts out to the 2 DJ s to see who will be available New Year s Eve. I am also checking on Trinity to see if we can use their facility for New Year s Eve. Also we are having a Black and White Gala. I have 2 people who are willing to donate for the evening black and white table cloths. Area normally pays for the DJ and the event is pot luck. I believe this should be the sae for this event. Also I was told of a member who was interested in Activities. I have tried to reach out to this person to no avail. Phone, text, facebook. The only response was that they had changed their number with that being said if you are interested in Activities please contact me at (434) That way we can work together on this event. Also we are looking for suggestions on speaker with various clean time 1 with 1 to 2 years, 1 with 3 to 5 years, 1 with 7 to 1 years and 1 with double digits. Also ideas on a theme/topic are welcome.

6 ILS, Krista H. Home Group Reports A New Beginning Our meeting continues to struggle with attendance. Most meetings we only have 2 people. Please announce in your home groups that we are in dire need of support. We have a donation of $19.00 and we purchased literature. We are currently looking into changing the location of our meeting place. More info to come. Mark P. will be celebrating 4 years clean on November 15 th. ILS, Dee New Hope No report no donation Gretna NA Group Living Clean Living Clean maintains a steady meeting of 5 to 10 people. At ties it is the smaller amount of people that shows up. A lot of the participants are home group members. We manage to pay our rent and have coffee. We could use some support even though we have a few newcomers stop by at times.
