7 You may have seen a PTA booth around town at events such as Willington Day or at the Town Hall on Election Day. You may have attended one of our events such as the Ice Cream Social, Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat or the 5K and Fun Runs or purchased items through one of our fundraisers. But do you know what the Willington PTA is all about? The Willington PTA is an association of parents, teachers and administrators who raise funds to enhance and enrich our children s school experience. The money we have raised in the past has been used to help pay for field trips, assembly programs and scholarships. We have contributed to the purchase of school sports uniforms, educational equipment and software, Center s spirit tees and Hall s sound system. Many of these extra expenses are not covered by the schools budgets but are essential for a meaningful and rich educational and extracurricular experience for our children. We also organize many fun community events where families can get together and meet their children s classmates and friends. We also host a son event and a daughter event. These events provide opportunities for all of us to get together as a community that cares for our children. Anyone can join the Willington PTA for only $10*. We meet just one evening a month. We love to see new faces with fresh ideas at our meetings. It is a great way to get to know the faculty and administrators, as well as other parents. As a member, you will have a voice and a vote in how we use the funds we raise. You may participate to the level you feel comfortable and are able. We are an easygoing, dedicated mix of community members driven by the same goal improving the education, health and safety of all children, all while having fun! STAY INFORMED...JOIN OUR FACEBOOK PAGE AT THE WILLINGTON PTA! *see attached membership form
