4 WELCOME TO THE TEAM! Brittney McClure Assistant Director of Healthy Living I grew up in Mechanicsburg, PA. As a kid, I participated in the YMCA before/after school programs and summer camps. In 2015, I graduated Slippery Rock University with a degree in Public Health and completed my internship at the Harrisburg YMCA. While interning, I had the opportunity to have a role in and the ability to learn multiple aspects of the Y, its members and involvement within the community. After completing my internship, I focused on personal training, group athletic training, and group fitness classes in both private and corporate facilities. I am very excited to be back within the YMCA community working with a variety of programs! Healthy Living Coordinator I just graduated in May from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Public Health; however, my college journey did not start there. I originally started out at the University of Pittsburgh, where I found that the big city life was not for me! While I was in college I competed in cross country and track and field. Even though my time there is done, I still love to run as much as I can. When I wasn t in class or at practice, I was a tutor for Anatomy and Chemistry or leading a small Bible study group. Courtney Group I am thrilled to be part of the YMCA and hope to make a difference while at Volvo CE! I hope to grow in my profession and learn as much as possible. The event consisted of over 50 racers and over 30 volunteers. The YMCA would like to thank all involved for making the race a great success! 7 STAFF SPOTLIGHT Calista Myers and Jen Johnson Calista Myers has been an employee of the Y for five years. Jen Johnson grew up as a Y kid taking swim lessons, swimming on the Chargers Swim Team, and eventually becoming a lifeguard when she was old enough. Presently, you can often find Calista and Jen on the pool deck guarding, teaching swim lessons and sometimes coaching. Calista and Jen are attentive and friendly to Y members, helpful when questions arise and play essential roles in the efficient and effective running of the Aquatics Department. Calista says, at the Y, the members keep her coming back. It brings joy to her daily job responsibilities when people stop to say hi to her and regulars make checking in with her part of their fitness routine when they arrive at the natatorium. Jen says, the Y is a great family place. The job is accommodating to a busy life schedule and the staff and members are very friendly. One of the most important parts of the job for Jen is teaching life skills that will last forever, like the ones she learned growing up at the Y natatorium. Both do other duties outside of lifeguarding to help the efficient and effective running of the Aquatics Department. Aquatic Director, Angi Johnson says, I am grateful and blessed to have both Calista and Jen as part of my department. Thank you, Calista and Jen, for all your hard work, dedication and the vital role you play in helping the families of Chambersburg learn to be and stay safe in the water!

10 SUMMER CAMP FEEDBACK Comments From Summer Camp 2018 Families The variety of trips is fantastic and keeps camp interesting. Activities are typical for day camp. I appreciate the reading time. The amount of trips and activities are top notch. Well worth the price. My daughter really enjoys the children there and the staff. She always looks forward to going every summer and there was never a time she didn't want to go. I think there were so many activities and great opportunities. The children were always active and they always seemed to have a good time! Your program is great and I really appreciate the people that worked there (my daughter loved all her counselors) taking such good care of my daughter. It s so nice to know that when she can t be with me, she is in a good place with good people. My daughter has been attending the YMCA camp since first grade. This fall, she started high school. She attended even after we moved out of the area because she made great friends and loved the program- and for the price, it was very well worth the trip! We highly recommend this camp to anyone who is looking for a fun summer experience for their kiddo! Thanks for 8 years of summer fun for my daughter!
