Sunday 14 th January at 11.15am: THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE 2D (U) This showing is suitable for anyone with an Autistic Spectrum condition & their family & friends & is also suitable for those preferring a low sensory environment. There will be a short break midway through the screening & the audience can move around to express themselves during the film. Please note that adults without a disability are only admitted if they are accompanying a child or person on the autistic spectrum or with special needs. All tickets 3. Monday 29 th January at 1.15pm: HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE (USA minutes) At City Screen, 13-17, Coney Street, York, YO1 9QL. This screening is open to everyone but is enhanced to suit the needs of people living with dementia. The environment is safe & comfortable, low lights are left on during the screening; the volume is reduced & members of the audience have the freedom to express themselves! Archive film is shown instead of adverts & all members of staff are Dementia Friends so that they can help to provide support before, during & after the showing. Refreshments are served before the screening (there is a lift available). Reduced admission is 4 & accompanying carers go free. There was a scrumptious buffet (thanks to those who prepared & served); Christmas Crackers; a Grand Raffle with lots of superb prizes (thanks for all donations); Mini-Treatments from York Healing Clinic (thanks to June & Sylvia) & Music & Songs from Michael Collinson & his guitar (thanks Mike). Well done to everyone who turned up in their Christmas jumper or hat! NEW YEAR S RESOLUTIONS Made any? Broken them yet? Probably the best resolution we can all make is to take better care of ourselves! Jot down the thing(s) which you keep meaning to do but which you keep putting off a visit to the dentist for a check-up or to the doctor to talk about those niggling symptoms which won t go away. Have a treat at the hairdresser, or a massage or a manicure or all 3! Mine is to fulfil the promise exchanged in a dozen Christmas cards - to meet a friend for coffee & a catch-up! 3
