As our road construction project inches ever closer I have been involved in additional meetings to prepare for what lies ahead for our Co-op, and our community as a whole. During these meetings as well as other community events I have attended, I have been considering the question: What does community mean to me? I have realized, what it means has changed and grown over the years. Working in the community has also given me a greater appreciation for how important this community is to me, my family & my employees. I value this community and what it has to offer, and with this I know what I as a member of this community need to do to make sure that I am supporting it, so that all of the things I love about this place can continue to be here for years to come. Everyone is on a different journey for what community means to them. I encourage you to ask yourself this question and to seek out what this great community has to offer you, and support it! Make a conscious choice to - buy your gas here, get your hair cut here, take an exercise class here, go out for dinner here, buy your groceries here. (you get the idea!) We at Harvest Moon Co-op are going to be partnering with several different local businesses to help promote & support each other; please see our events info as well as more info below for these exciting opportunities for YOU! If we all stop and realize that what we get out of this community is what we put into it - I see a prosperous future for OUR community! I know together we are stronger! 4 Long Lake Earth Day Clean Up Long Lake is excited to kick off our first community Earth Day Clean Up! When: Saturday, April 22nd from 10:00-noon Where: Meet at Lakeside Wine & Spirits (1916 Wayzata Blvd) What: We will be cleaning up our community, one trash bag at a time! After cleaning head back to Lakeside Wine & Spirits for some great local refreshments & goodies to take home! Who: This is a family event! Everyone is welcome! What you will need: We will provide water & fruit to get you going and plenty of trash bags. Please come dressed for the weather; layers, comfortable shoes (that might get dirty), gloves & your desire to help make this community shine!
