The collaboration between the Sheboygan County YMCA and the Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund is designed to fulfill our shared mission of: With a growing number of cancer patients and survivors interested in getting active in this program, the YMCA staff have gone above and beyond by offering a variety of meeting times to accommodate the schedules of the next class of LIVESTRONG at the Y participants (pictured below). This is just a wonderful little story! When the Matthews Oncology Associates and Sheboygan Cancer & Blood Specialists clinic was remodeled in 2003/2004, treatment chairs were purchased from Nemschoff, a local business. Not long after, one of Nemschoff s own employees experienced a cancer diagnosis and spent more than a few hours in those chairs but wasn t entirely satisfied. So they re-designed and improved the chair and, with this redesigned chair Nemschoff pledged to donate a portion of its sales to The Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund. This wonderful act of CHAIRity has brought in more than $15,000 to SCCCF and shows that Nemschoff is concerned about the comfort of area cancer patients even after they leave the comfort of their Serenity III chair! Right: Survivor Kathie Horness, another great supporter of SCCCF, appreciates the comfort of the Serenity III Treatment Chair as well as the comfort that comes from living in a community filled with kind and caring individuals, organizations and businesses! Bob Rammer Jr. Golf Classic Benefits SCCCF! I also received another generous donation on behalf of the Bob Rammer Jr. Golf Classic! Cochairs Tony Rammer along with Tim & Patty Mayer held the 28 th annual event on June 7 th in memory of Tony s brother Bob who died of lymphoma at age 30. The Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund has been a beneficiary of this event since 2009 and, since then, the event has brought in $22,500 for local cancer patients and survivors! This year,

in addition to their generous donation to SCCCF, the event also contributed part of the proceeds to a local resident who is suffering from leukemia.

Mark your calendar for the 29 th Annual Bob Rammer Golf Classic on June 6 th, 2015! SCCCF Active Survivors of Sheboygan Set a Milestone! Along with the many volunteers and supporters that work so hard for the benefit of local patients and survivors, we have a group of local survivors known as the Active Survivors of Sheboygan (A.S.S.) Team who are working hard to Survive, Thrive & Be Fit! In September we had 24 survivor-athletes submit their exercise log sheets to set a new high of 520 points! Team members earn one point for each day that they complete 30 minutes or more of moderate intensity exercise! Monday Nights at 5:30PM September 15 th through December 15 th MOA/SCBS 2 nd Floor Conference Room Area cancer survivors are encouraged to experience the benefits of this gentle yoga program! These FREE sessions will include gentle stretching, breathing and meditation to bring some peace, healing and relaxation to the mind and body.
