Monthly Message A letter from your President, First of all, I would like to say THANK YOU for the confidence and support you have all placed in me to lead our chapter as your new President for this upcoming year. I can t express to you how excited I am, and I hope to be able to fill the shoes of all of my wonderful predecessors. Even though we re taking a break from our monthly meetings for the summer, our Board of Directors has been hard at work getting ready to make this coming year exceptional. I feel like it s been forever since I ve seen all my paralegal friends, and I can t wait to get back to work at our monthly meetings and yearly special events. There are so many things I d like to accomplish during the upcoming year, and I m hoping that we will receive the support and participation necessary to ensure success. One of the things I will be focusing on is Benefits. I want to make sure all of our members are receiving the benefits they deserve by being a member of our wonderful association. The Paralegal Association of Florida has provided quality continuing education, networking opportunities, and career advancement opportunities to its members for many years, and I want to make sure that you are receiving the benefits you deserve. the uncertainty and excitement of being a student member is all too familiar. I would like to help nurture the relationship between our student members and active members to facilitate an atmosphere of comradery and apprenticeship. We all know how important it is to have friends in the legal field to help you get your feet wet. It s not always easy to admit you need help, but it s a lot easier when you know you have someone who s willing to be there if you need it. As the year progresses, please feel free to let me know of anything you feel we need to add, improve, or change. I am open to what you have to say. There are so many of you with so much to offer, and I want your input and participation. Your membership and support is integral to our success, and we strive to be the most successful paralegal association in the State of Florida. 3 Page 3 BREVARD CHAPTER Second Annual Bring Your Boss to Lunch Save the Date Friday, September 22, 2017, a.m. -1:30 p.m. Featured Speaker: John M. Stewart, Esquire. Legal Information Technology: Challenges and Opportunities for the Future. Suntree Country Club, Melbourne, Florida (See attached Save the Date for additional information) Monthly Meeting Our Chapter monthly meetings will begin again in August. Our next meeting will be on August 10th, 2017, and our Speaker will be Scott Krasny, Esquire Top 10 Qualities of Top Notch Paralegals. Chapter Donations Our Chapter made a recent donation to Cancer Advocacy Resources Education (CARE) in the amount of $1, for their monthly High Tea events. CARE provides a monthly event where cancer patients, survivors, and their families can come together and share their life changing experiences. We will be donating $ to the Brevard Schools Foundation Backpack Program, which provides much needed school supplies to families and children in need. We will also be donating $ to the Children s Hunger Project, which provides school aged children with food to take home at the end of each week. The food provided ensures each child has the nourishment they need throughout the weekend, so they are ready to succeed in school the next week.
