Drinking eggnog, decorating the house, listening to holiday music, and wondering who you should nominate for the Chapter s leadership positions for the next chapter year! We need volunteers for the positions of Secretary and a Board member. If you are interested, or if you know of someone who might be interested, please contact a board member listed on the last page of this newsletter. We also welcome volunteers for our committees, so if you haven t been involved lately please consider a committee position. Don t forget to complete your CPE requirements for your IIA certification(s) prior to December 31. See inside this newsletter for our December seminar information. You not only realize you don t have enough CPE, there are holidays to prepare for. In addition to Christmas on December 25, there are other celebrations in December including, but not limited to: Hanukkah is December 24 January 1 Kwanzaa is December 26 January 1 The Winter solstice is December 21 Volunteer Opportunity October 19, 2016 Training Session IIA Book of the Month Chapter Officers and Board Members List I was checking out some fun facts online and found the following are also in December: 5th is the Day of the Ninja, 12th is Gingerbread House Day, 16th is Chocolate Covered Anything Day, 21st is International Dalek Remembrance Day (hahahahaha), and December 23rd is Festivus! But I don t celebrate this so don t try to air any of your grievances with me. (If you never watched Seinfeld, you can use your research skills to look it up on line.) Editor s Note 5

2 Audit Tales Upcoming Events December 8, 2016 Quarterly Meeting Topic: Managing the Millennial Auditor Speaker: Toby DeRoche, TeamMate Senior Market Development Consultant, Wolters Kluwer Audit, Risk & Compliance Time: 1:00 pm 3:00 pm (2 CPE hours) Location: UF Human Resource Building, Room 120 (903 W. University Ave., Gainesville, FL 32611) Cost: $25 members, $35 non-members Register for meetings at Volunteer Opportunity The Chapter is hosting its 2nd annual student case competition at the University of Florida. The last event was during April 2016 with over 30 University of Florida students participating. The upcoming competition will be open to students in surrounding colleges. Hence, we need volunteers to once again pull off a successful event. Volunteers are needed as mentors for student teams and setting up the day of the event.
