SECTION 2 ACADEMIC DETAILS Subject Ratinale Human Bilgical Science 1 intrduces students t the cncepts f human anatmy and physilgy, frm the scientific cncept f the cell, thrugh the varius levels f structural rganisatin t the rganism as a whle. Students will develp cnceptual understanding f the skeletal, muscular, nervus, endcrine and integumentary systems by cnsidering their cmpnents, structure and functins. This subject als explres hw these bdy systems integrate t maintain hmestasis within the bdy and participate in cntrl mechanisms, grwth, develpment and replacement. A basic knwledge and understanding f the structure and functining f cells, tissues and rgans f healthy peple is essential fr subsequent studies in pharmaclgy and pathlgy, and fr laying the fundatin fr develping prblem slving skills required in the clinical setting.
