They initiated nine specific days that mixed other applicants together for a day rich in programming. Each day now includes a tour led by current students, a research presentation, lunch with faculty and staff, and the interview itself. Fifteen additional faculty and staff were engaged in the interview process to examine the questions and review the application procedure. Elaine, Jan and Dr. McKnight worked from the perspective of the student in order to provide new and better ways to interview and engage prospective students. Dr. McKnight, Elaine Brown and Jan Lawler were nominated by Associate Dean Cathy Solow. IOWA awardees are recognized for their initiative, innovation, measurable results, and/or sustaining impact. A review committee evaluates the nominations for suitability for the IOWA.
