4 SUMMARY General objectives The general objective is to prevent onwards HIV transmission and other sexually transmitted infections (STI) from people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA) to sexual partners by supporting service providers (SP) in HIV care settings to deliver adequate sexual and reproductive health (SRH)-related services (i.e. sexual risk reduction and fertility-related services). Strategic relevance and contribution to the public health programme The project contributes to the Public Health Programme by preventing onwards HIV and STI transmission, therefore improving healthier life styles among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA); it develops and disseminates good practices for SP (service providers) in an integrated field of HIV and SRH. Eurosupport 6 develops support positive prevention strategies for SRH for 2 prioritized target groups of PLHA: men having sex with men (MSM) and migrants, focusing on heterosexual transmission. Methods and means Methods applied are review of existing materials, developing and implementing brief counselling sessions supported by computer-assisted modules, and testing them for effectiveness using a prospective experimental design (pre- and post test). Expected outcomes period The long term goal of the intervention is to establish positive behavioural changes over time and therefore enhance overall quality of life of PLHA, and to reduce onwards HIV/STI transmissions.
