6 Minden Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Nov. 7, 2018 Minden Pizza Hut President Joelle Knott called the meeting to order at 12:12pm. Minutes from the Oct. meeting & Oct. treasurer s report were reviewed, Kevin Krull moved & Kirk Peterson seconded the motion. Motion passed. Old Business Cassandra Tomsen talked to the board about the 2019 Kearney CO Fair & AG BBQ and changes for next year. No dates have been confirmed for the fair yet. A potential date of Aug. 9, 2019 was discussed with weekend type of activities during the fair, Fri., Sat. & Sun with the BBQ on Sat. night. The fair board meeting will meet next Tues., Nov. 13 finalize the dates. Cassandra will keep the Chamber updated and might come to the next meeting. BandFest All together a good day, 36 band in the parade and 9 in the field. Thank you to Todd Jensen, Michelle Edgecombe and everyone who volunteered. Christmas Festival Everything is coming together. There are two groups signed up for the Escape room. Sign-up for time at the Escape room on the Chamber website, push/share facebook events to help promote the festival. Other advertising includes NTV interviews, press release, radio ads. Two groups have volunteered for the bounce houses but we still needing 3 more groups. Miss Christmas City ballots are out. Six girls have been nominated for Miss Christmas City. Voting jars are at Exchange Bank, City Office & First Bank. All money raised will be matched by Modern Woodmen for a scholarship for Miss Christmas City. USA communications is sponsoring the Train, Masons Market the Bounce Houses, Exchange Bank Santa, First Bank the movie. Annual Meeting The meeting will be held on Nov. 13 at the Minden Opera House, pizza will be provided and a cash bar will be available. Joelle will overview the year, budget etc Budget The budget was reviewed one more time we will approve the budget at the Dec. meeting. New Business Blue Jeans & BBQ The committee has met and is working on a band and other ideas for this year. The date is March 22, 2019 at the Kearney CO Fairgrounds. Dawn Thompson moved and Amy Fuqua seconded meeting adjourned.
