Friday is still a gd day t meet fr majrity f the cmmittee members fr the in persn meetings. The fllwing dates were selected fr in-persn meetings fr 2014 April date still pending as f 10/25. Candy is wrking n finding a lcatin fr the meeting April 11 th first chice; April 25 th secnd chice fr Aprils in-persn meeting September 12 th is the date fr ur Fall in-persn meeting. We have a new lcatin. We will be meeting at the new hspital. Thanks t Cindy Ghner, ne f ur new steering cmmittee members, she give Candy a cntact at the hspital and we nw have a meeting rm at n-cst. Stefanie and Kathy lead the discussin regarding highlights f what was discussed at the training. They shared a handut fcused n the Nine Habits f Successful Cmprehensive Cancer Cntrl Calitins. We began the discussin in this area and determined a small cmmittee will need t review the NDCC By-laws befre the 2014 annual meeting. d. The cmmittee reviewed the NDCC rganizatinal chart and fcused n the standing cmmittees n the chart. The Standing Cmmittees are currently nt peratinal. When the calitin went int implementatin mde, the members mved frm standing cmmittees t wrkgrups. We have nt had peratinal standing cmmittees fr ver three years. The questin was asked, d these cmmittees need t stay n the rganizatinal chart? It was discussed that, if remved by a vte f the membership, an ptin may be t cnsider any f these cmmittees t be added as needed as an Ad Hc cmmittee fr a specific time then disbanded when the need r task is cmpleted. It was decided t bring this discussin t the membership n the Nvember calitin call and see what reactin r discussin is received frm the members. If members are in favr f remving the standing cmmittees frm the rganizatinal chart, then a vte can be called t cnfirm the membership wishes n this. The fllwing standing cmmittees are under cnsideratin fr this change; membership/resurces, Cmmunicatins, Educatin/Training and Plicy. Discussed that the Data/Evaluatin Cmmittee culd get mved up in the rganizatinal chart as a wrkgrup 3

5 12. Other Pints f Discussin (All) abut grant awards. We shuld get ntificatin regarding all prgram grant awards by the end f September Sme f ur prgrams didn t get funded at the levels they were requested r prgrams nt funded s there was sme Sectin staff psitins that have been mved arund. N changes have ccurred in the Cancer Divisin, but will need t wait t fill the Outreach Crdinatr psitin until we knw the result f all Sectin grant ntificatins. Tera Miller will prvide temprary part time supprt t Jyce until we find ut if her current psitin will be funded. Outreach Crdinatr psitin will be psted in the event Tera stays in her current psitin. Hping Nvember 1 st t have this psitin fr Outreach Crdinatr filled Ashley Schmidt will be the part-time admin assistant and will be prviding supprt mainly fr the Cmp Cancer Prgram Angie Ryan is ur new CDC prgram cnsultant fr the Cmp Cancer Prgram Funding status Submitted grant applicatins fr the Cancer Divisin in March Budgets had t be reduced by $95,000 Hping grant guidance in January 2014 will g back t riginal budget BRFSS was nt funded in rund 3 s Susan has spent a lt f time t find mney t fund this prgram thrugh 2014 Cmmittee members began the discussin as t wh r what rganizatins may be missing frm the steering cmmittee. We need mre cancer centers t be represented n this cmmittee as there are currently nly three cancer centers represented. Wuld als like t see a secnd persn represented frm ACS.
