9 Sharing comments Encouraged in the Work Plan Work Plan suggests to circulate comments on OIE documents within the region Noted at the Regional Commission meeting in May State of play Only 4 members have circulated their comments among regional members this year

10 Nomination of experts Encouraged in the Work Plan Work Plan suggests development of a list of experts for nomination for Specialist Commissions, Working Groups etc. Regional Commission discussed in May about sharing information on nomination of national experts among regional members. A list of tentative ad hoc Groups was circulated in June to help members' consideration State of play 3 experts nominations have been recognised since June.

11 Regional Seminar for OIE Delegates 18 November 2013, Cebu, Philippines Objectives: To provide an opportunity to regional OIE Delegates to deepen their understanding of the work of each OIE Specialist Commission, in particular, how each Commission s work proceeds, how comments from Members are discussed, and what the Commissions expect from Member. To improve the communication between regional experts and regional Delegates

18 5-year Action Plan Focus/priorities The Regional Action Plan addresses the animal diseases and topics that have qualified as priories for the region, namely: Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD): ASEAN, SAARC Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI): ASEAN, SAARC Classical Swine Fever (CSF): ASEAN Peste des Petis Ruminants (PPR): SAARC Rabies and Reinforcement of Veterinary Services Improving Advocacy SPC needs to sustain on-going efforts to maintain both its preparedness against incursion of TADs and its preventative activities.

19 5-year Action Plan General objectives 1. Facilitate collaboration and maximize synergies 2. Prevent occurrence and reduce potential impacts of animal disease 3. Promote adequate governance of Veterinary Services 4. Encourage adequate national and international resources GF-TADs labeling Activities can be labeled GF-TADs if implemented under the umbrella of the GF-TADs Stakeholders are encouraged to use the GF-TADs platform
