4 Objectives Share information amongst Southeast Asia and East Asia To exchange information on transboundary diseases including epidemiology and laboratory issues in East Asia - Key identified priorities are FMD, Avian Influenza, PPR, CSF, Rabies and Antimicrobial resistance. At this meeting it is proposed to focus on FMD and HPAI as the other key areas will be discussed in detail at other specific workshops. To discuss how to continue to improve collaboration and coordination among members, taking into consideration the conclusions and recommendations of the 1st East Asia CVOs meeting in July 2016 and the recommendations from the 1st East Asia National Contact Persons Meeting in To propose future activities and work plan, such as establishing leading laboratories, institutes or members in the region on the priority issues, collaboration on capacity building activities in the region and future training opportunities. Come up with a Report to be submitted to the EA CVOs Forum meeting for its endorsement

(China-Mongolia-Russia tripartite collaboration) Meetings on strengthening collaboration on TADs and EIDs were held in 2007, 2011 and the year after. 6 1 st East Asia CVOs meeting (1/2) The Meeting agreed to: 1. Establish East Asia Chief Veterinary Officers (CVOs ) Forum ( Forum ). The Forum will discuss and provide strategic guidance and direction to strengthen regional cooperation and coordination on TADs prevention and control as well as other regional priority threats in the East Asia region, 2. Establish East Asia Technical Working Groups ( TWGs ) on regional priority issues to be further developed or modified by the Forum, 3. Convene regular meetings of the Forum, as well as the TWGs, wherever possible and using opportunities of other relevant meetings, 4. Designate Focal Points from the Forum Members for TWGs of the regional priority issues, 5. Engage the RO Korea and DPR of Korea in the Forum, TWGs and related activities, 6. Explore for the Forum to become a member of the Regional Steering Committee of GF-TADs for Asia. Actions taken/to be taken 2nd meeting will be organized in November 2018 in Vietnam, during the SEACFMD Subcom. meeting (tbc). NCP meeting serves for overall coordination and planning (in Aug. 2017, Apr. 2018). Lab net/epi net will be established. For other issues, ad hoc TWG will be held, e.g., Quarantine/Biosecurity, AMR, Vet Education, To be discussed in the Regional Steering Committee meeting of GF TADs in July 2018

7 1 st East Asia CVOs meeting (2/2) The Meeting, therefore, recommended that: The Forum Members 1. Continue to strengthen collaboration, coordination and timely information sharing to further improve animal health situation in the region including; 1.1. Designation of regional priority TADs (FMD, HPAI, PPR, Rabies, and CSF) and regional priority threats (AMU and AMR), 1.2. Designation of Leading Laboratories for the regional priority TADs and regional priority, Actions taken/to be taken Lab net will be established for each TADs, designating leading laboratories. FMD: HPAI: PPR: Rabies: CSF: AMR/AMU: NVAL, Japan 1.3. Enhancement of cooperation on epidemiology by exploring approaches and strategy to strengthen veterinary epidemiology capacity and networking for East Asia, 2. Develop or modify regional roadmaps for regional priority issues Epi net will be led by CAHEC, China. Review the East Asia FMD Roadmap Draft a new Roadmap/Work Plan covering all priority issues
