4 I would like to take this time to thank everyone at CrossFit Vernon for being the best members ever! There was never a day I woke up and didn't want to come to CFV to coach, I love you guys. Unfortunately I will not be returning to CrossFit Vernon, as I took a full time job doing Sales and Estimating with Discovery Glass Kelowna. I will always have a spot in my Heart for CFV and all of the coaches and members for the rest of my life. The Family at CFV was a huge part in keeping me positive and influencing my recovery, I wouldn't be the same without you guys being in my life. For that I can't thank you enough. 7 Swordfighters is a program of Western Martial Arts (WMA), These are the martial arts of Europe's past, from a geographical region including Spain, Portugal, and extending north and east to Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. The scope of arts considered to be WMA includes wrestling, pugilism, edged weapons, and stick fighting Mike Panian, and the Swordfighters will be at the gym on Wednesday evenings with his martial arts group!

9 ATHLETE of the MONTH REBECCA STODDART AKA BECCA AKA BEC There are many words that could be used to describe Rebecca, but the one that always comes to mind is dedication. In the years I ve been at Crossfit Vernon I ve never encountered someone that is more driven and goal oriented. Although she gets teased for asking too many questions, I wouldn t have it any other way. As a coach I enjoy when people immerse themselves into our program. In the past few months Rebecca has been working extra hard on her gymnastics doing 2 extra sessions per week outside of her class training. I ve noticed a big improvement in her ring muscle ups and handstand pushups, both strict and kipping.

10 ATHLETE of the MONTH REBECCA STODDART AKA BECCA -- AKA BEC Not only is she self motivated but there isn t another person in the gym who gets more excited for everyone else. Whether it s someone getting their first muscle up or box jump she is always there giving them high fives and congratulations. Crossfit is about community and Rebecca exemplifies that every time she walks in through the door. Keep crushing workouts and enjoy the next 4 weeks of the Open! -Coach Marco

All movements and training techniques have been selected based on a rigorous investigation of evidence, conducted by physical conditioning and medical experts, as it pertains to body control, injury prevention, joint health and physical longevity. Dr. Piper is the only certified KINSTRECH instructor in the Okanagan valley. He is also certified in Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), making him extremely knowledgeable in human movement, biomechanics, and body control development.
