You cannot enter a class 5 min after the class has started. Please arrive 5 minutes before class begins. For safety no entry after warm up. Don t forget to bring a towel. New participants, injuries, pregnancy? If you are a new partcipant, have injuries, are pregnant or have special concerns please arrive 5 minutes early and discuss with your instructor before class commences. They can make variations for your special needs. Active Moreland centres are wheelchair accessible. Please contact the centre you are visiting two weeks prior to the event or us if you have any other specific access, interpreting or dietary requirements for you to fully participate.

7 CLASS DESCRIPTIONS GROUP FITNESS A.B.T. A low impact class which incorporates weight resistance training, improving cardiovascular fitness, bone density, muscle strength and muscle tone. Body Attack: BODYATTACK is the sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilisation exercises. Body Balance: BODYBALANCE is the Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength, leaves you feeling centered and calm. Body Combat: BODYCOMBAT is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as Karate, Boxing, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi and Muay Thai. Strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to release your inner warrior. Body Jam: BODYJAM is the cardio workout where you are free to enjoy the sensation of dance. An addictive fusion of the latest dance styles and hottest new sounds puts the emphasis as much on having fun as breaking a sweat. Body Pump: BODYPUMP is the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the nest weight-room exercises like Squats, Presses, Lifts and curls. Get the results you came for - and fast! Body Step: BODYSTEP is the energising step workout that makes you feel movements on, over and around it, you ll push fat-burning systems into high gear. Boxing: Boxing is a 1-hour class which focuses on technique and boxing combinations as well as muscular endurance, speed and conditioning. *must bring inners. * Class is weather dependent. Cardio Box: A boxing class that improves cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, speed and coordination. Please note bringing your own inner gloves are mandatory. Inner gloves are available for purchase. The express based class is a 30min intensive class. Please note outdoor cardio box classes are weather dependent. Due to hygiene it is suggested that you bring your own Boxing gloves. Circuit: Circuit training is a form of body conditioning using endurance and resistance training. It targets strength building and muscular endurance. The core objective of circuit training is to increase muscle strength, endurance, flexibility and coordination, and as the intensity of the workout is based on the participant, it can accommodate the beginner to the advanced, and burn a high amount of calories accordingly. Core Strength & Stability: A totally body workout combining free weights and fitball to enhance deep core control and muscle strength. Targeting not only the core but isolating muscle groups throughout the class. A great workout. CXWORX (30 mins): Based on cutting-edge scientific research CXWORX is the ultimate to a tight and toned core. With dynamic training that hones in on your abs, glutes, back, obliques and slings connecting the upper and lower body CXWORX will leave you looking good and feeling strong. Kettlebell (30 mins): Kettlebells are solid cast iron weights that look like a cannon ball with a handle. This is a weight training class that works many body parts simultaneously as well as elevating the heart rate for effective cardiovascular training and high calorie burning. LES MILLS BARRE : This is a modern version of classic balletic training; a 30-minute workout designed to shape and tone postural muscles, build core strength, and allow you to escape the everyday. Incorporating classic ballet positions, with modern music, LES MILLS BARRE is a combination of cardio & strength with high reps of small range-of-motion movements and very light weights. RPM / Cycle: RPM is the indoor cycling routine workout where you ride to the rhythm of powerful music. Take on the terrain with your inspiring team coach who leads the pack through hills, flats, mountain peaks, time trials and interval training. SH BAM: Featuring simple but seriously hot dance moves, SH BAM is the perfect way to shape up and let out your inner star- even if dance isn t your natural thing. VIPR (45 mins): VIPR bridges the gap between movement and strength training. It combines full-body movement with load, enhancing performance and reconditioning goals from the health conscious to athletes. Zumba: A patented fitness class that combines Latin dancing with interval and resistance training for a rhythmic workout. Designed for all fitness levels. Zumba Gold: This is for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower intensity. The design of the class introduces easy to follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination.

8 WELLNESS CLASSES Chair Yoga An all-inclusive program that uses a chair to bring the benefits of yoga to a much bigger proportion of the population. It s aimed at those that may have reduced physical capabilities, joint challenges, lack of mobility, recovering from illness or accidents, or other physical issues. Meditation: This is a 1-hour meditation class where you train your mind and induces a mode of consciousness, to calm your mind and enhance inner peace. Due to hygiene it is suggested that you bring your own mat for the class. Pilates: Pilates is a system of controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition reduces stress and creates long, lean muscles without bulking up. Pilates takes a balanced approach so that no muscle group is overworked and the body moves as an efficient system in sport and daily activity. Due to hygiene it is suggested that you bring your own mat. Thai Chi: Tai Chi Qigong class is a unique combination of gentle and easy to follow movements, stretches, mindfulness, breath and relaxation. It improves the functioning of virtually all of the systems of the body. Mindfulness: Focusing on mind and body, this class provides a range of low impact activities that will assist in toning and strengthening core areas in a calm, peaceful class that concludes with mind release through meditation. Suitable for all levels. Yoga: Stretching and strengthening movements that aim to energise & relax the whole being. Standing postures, forward/backward bends & twists are cowmmon. Improve posture, alignment, relieve tension & stress. Bring a blanket & warm clothing. Due to hygiene it is suggested to bring a mat. CYCLE RPM / Cycle: RPM is the indoor cycling routine workout where you ride to the rhythm of powerful music. Virtual Spin There are multiple options to choose from when you want to spice up your indoor cycling class with fitness on demand virtual Spin. This is available at Oak Park Sports & Aquatic Centre AQUA CLASSES Aqua Seniors: A water based exercise class designed for Seniors 60+ and all fitness levels incorporating gentle and active cardiovascular fitness. Deep Water Running: Incorporating deep and shallow water running with intense interval work. A great cross training class. Swim Squad: Focus on developing & improving stroke technique, endurance, fitness & competition preparation. Swim squads appeal to a variety of swimming levels & abilities. It is an opportunity to train in a friendly group with a qualified coach. ACTIVE ADULTS Lift for Life: Lift for Life is specifically targeted to members and guests who require rehabilitation, gentle and controlled exercises. The class is conducted in a controlled environment under the management of a highly skilled trainer. This program is an additional paid service to a standard membership. LLLS: Living longer, living stronger. A weight training program focusing on improving muscle strength, flexibility and balance. This program is COTA endorsed. Active Hearts Active Hearts is a low impact class to music designed to increase muscular endurance, strength, flexibility and fitness. It is a great class for seniors and for people who have chronic illnesses. Active Seniors: Active Seniors is a land based class to music designed to increase muscular endurance, strength and flexibility. Specially designed for people over 50 years of age, but all welcome. Arthritis Cycle Arthritis in the knee can cause pain and stiffness and it may seem best to avoid exercise. However, the right level and kind of exercise can actually help improve joints. Cycling is a good option because it is non weight bearing and can help to strengthen the muscles of the legs. Aqua Seniors: A water based exercise class designed for Seniors 60+ and all fitness levels incorporating gentle and active cardiovascular fitness. Chairobics: Chairobics is a land based class to music designed to increase muscular endurance, strength and flexibility. Specifically designed for people with limited mobility. The class is normally taken seated in a chair. Catered for people over 50 years of age, but all welcome. SPECIAL PROGRAMS Pre / Post Natal: Pre/Post natal classes focus on posture, strengthening and toning the muscles that are under strain throughout your pregnancy and then retraining & toning muscles back to strength and shape after the birth of your baby. Regardless of whether you are expecting or have just recently had a baby, this class can deliver optimal fitness and health. Run Like Crazy: Is a morning run group that leaves from Brunswick Baths reception at 6am and heads to Royal Park or Princess Park. The plan changes each session & incorporates short and long intervals, tempo runs, time trials & even some hill runs. Social Badminton Badminton is a social sport and offers a great way to meet new people. Our social badminton is offered on a casual basis. You can burn up to 1000 calories per hour as well as test your stamina, flexibility and coordination. Social Dance: Come along and participate in a range of dance styles suitable for weddings and special occasions such as the slow Fox rot, Waltz, Cha Cha and Ballroom.
