2 Notes from the Governor Greetings to all! I hope you are enjoying your summer, and I hope we have an extended one. We have quite a few events planned for this fall. Please check the bulletin boards at the Lodge for information and the PowerPoint on the TV on the south wall as well. We hope to have that running in the next week or two. So far our members have been understanding of the need for us to raise the membership dues. Thank you for your understanding and the position we have been forced into. I promise we will continue to ensure that the Sheboygan Moose is a great value to you and your family. We still need volunteers. The kitchen may be closed occasionally if we can t get a shift covered. Once again there is a signup sheet for you to provide food for Green Bay Packer games. Reimbursement will be limited to $30 for the actual cost. Remember to save your receipts for submission. There will also be drink discounts for Packer games. We will try to have some food specials for some Badger football games. Please make sure to like and follow the Sheboygan Moose Family Center on Facebook to stay informed of all the events including Black Friday Potluck and New Year s Eve (this year The MonRo Band will be playing.) Please stop in and support your Lodge. See ya there! Seth Fuller Sportsman s Banquet Update Sorry for the late update reference the banquet. Time flies and it sure doesn t seem like it was 6 months ago! With the funds raised at the banquet, we were able to donate approximately $3,400 to Camp Y Koda for much needed equipment for their outdoor activities and projects. Just to list a few of the items purchased air rifles, BB guns and pellets, targets (both steel and paper), safety equipment, archery range equipment, arrows, and other outdoor equipment. Additionally, we were able to donate $1,600 to Maywood for electric tracking equipment to be used for educational opportunities for children involved in outdoor educational classes at the park. Thank you to all that helped make the night a huge success! Events like this really help to put the Lodge and its members in a positive light in the community. Due to the success and requests, we will be hosting another banquet next year. The date will be Saturday, February 23, Tickets will go on sale Friday, November 23 rd at the Lodge. Mark your calendars and we hope to see everyone again. Last and certainly not least, a big thank you to Geno Casper for all of your help with last year s banquet! All your help behind the scenes is greatly appreciated!!

3 October 20 th Dinner & Comedy Night! John Russell Doors Open at 5pm Dinner at 6pm Show to Follow at 7:30pm ***Opener John Russell*** Although the world is changing, John Russell refuses to. He s been entertaining people, young and old, for almost 30 years and doesn t want to stop. Whether it s successful runs in regional and national radio as a host and voiceover guy, two starring roles in Medwest dinner theater, or making comedy club audiences laugh and until they cry for the past 10 years across the U.S., John is self-deprecating, slightly angry, and highly likeable. His ability to hate stuff nicely has earned him opening spots for some of the best in the business, including: Gilbert Gottfried, Moshe Kasher, Josh Blue, Costaki Economopoulos, and trutv s Impractical Jokers. He recently appeared on Pauly Shore Stands Alone on Showtime TV and he s also the host of Live from My Garage. Back by Popular Demand - Mike Marvell is a Milwaukee comedian who travels across the country telling jokes and stories about his family and life in Wisconsin. Married with three kids, his comedy offers material that everyone can relate to. $25 Per Person which includes show and your meal choice of Prime Rib OR Stuffed Pork Loin stuffed with Ham, Provolone Cheese, Bread Crumb Seasoning and Wrapped in Bacon Garlic Mashed Potatoes OR Roasted Baby Reds Vegetable and Dinner Rolls All proceeds from the dinner and show will go to the building fund Tickets limited to 120, so don t wait too long to get yours Tickets available at the Lodge starting Friday, August 31 st Sheboygan Moose Lodge #438 1 st Annual Car Show Our first annual car show was a success! Thank you to all of the members that assisted with the event! We had a total of 115 vehicles that registered. All of the comments were positive from the participants. Also the City of Sheboygan reached out to let us know that they were very happy with the event and looked forward to working with the Lodge in the future. With all of the positive feedback, we have scheduled the date for next year s car show already. Mark your calendar as we will need your help Saturday, July 27th Thank you again to all that helped with this great event!

4 Notes from the Administrator We just finished hosting the "State Moose Golf Tournament" here at our Lodge. It is an honor to be selected to host this event. We also finished hosting our Lodge Golf Tournament. In order to do these things, we needed many of our members to step up and give us their time and effort!! I cannot name everyone who helped, but chair people for these events were: Jim Bath was Chair Person for the State Tournament and Scott Kohlhagen Chaired the event for our Lodge! Many members stepped up to help and many prizes were donated for these events!! A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL!! I especially want to thank the Kitchen Help, for without them, we would not have had the wonderful meals that were served!!! This brings up the concern that we need more help in the kitchen. We are coming close to closing the kitchen on some Friday nights because we ve had no cooks. We are asking more members to step up from 5 to 8 on Friday nights and this will keep the cost of food and drinks stay down. You would not work every Friday night and would never work alone. But a Big Thanks to the help who cook now, but they need a break. If you can help please talk to Seth, Kevin, or John. Now look at the calendar of events and you will see some functions coming up. Please step up and help YOUR LODGE! Gather up some of your friends and offer to give Your LODGE a hand. Bartending Meeting September 10 th at 5pm Are you interested in becoming a bartender? Come and join us at the meeting. We d love to have you! Meatloaf Dinner / Trivia Night September 29, 2018 Serving 5:30pm 6:15pm Meatloaf meals available for $8.50 per person You will receive your own meatloaf, garlic mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, and fresh baked bread Need an extra meatloaf? Buy just a meatloaf for $5 TO GO orders only! If you want to help, sign up on the volunteer sheet and see Seth with questions Sign up and pay at the bar beginning August 25 th for all dinner orders to make sure that we have enough Walkins are welcome, but we can t guarantee that meatloaf will be available unless you sign up After the dinner at 7:00pm, get your teams together and join us for trivia night Trivia will be 30 general questions with a few extras thrown in There is no cost for trivia Team size limited to 6 No use of the Internet Drink specials will be available during trivia Prizes of Moosebucks will be awarded!
