2 Addition to the Dale City Lodge 2165 House Rules Starting May 1, 2018 you will not be able to store your bottles behind the bar. Options are to rent a locker or take your bottle with you when you leave. This new House Rule will free up much needed space behind the bar and the girls will not have to search for your bottle. We have 200 lockers available. Locker fees for the year are $ BUILDING UPDATE Our SUP has been submitted to the county and we expect the Board of County Supervisors to have a meeting regarding our request in May. The Building Committee is planning to hold a meeting for LOOM and WOTM members on February 24, 2018, to review the new building plans and to discuss the interior decor as we move toward the second phase of the project. We will mail notices to all members and keep everyone posted via posters and FB.

3 Governor s Message: There are many great things going on in and around the lodge: New Building Construction: The contractor has submitted the Special Use Permit (SUP) to the county for consideration. They expect this to take from 4 to 6 months to complete. During this time, we will have a hearing that is open to the public so they can hear any issues (good or bad). We will let everyone know when that is when we find out. We are also going to have a meeting to go over this and look at the new designs on Saturday, February 24, Elections: The elections for the board of officers is coming up in April. If you think that you may be interested in serving on the board, please talk to one of our current officers or read the Moose General Laws on the duties of every position at VMA Mid-Year Conference: We had a successful conference this year in Norfolk. We had the hospitality room again this time and got rave reviews from the conference attendees. One thing that did stand out this year is the VA Charitable Gaming Commission is trying to get Texas Hold-um tournaments legalized for the state. Info will be forthcoming. FIRST RESPONDERS EXTENTION: The first responders campaign is now extended through April 30, If you know of anyone who qualifies for this ( they will get the administrative fee waved and free dues for the first year. Free Dues: We are starting a campaign now through April 30, If you enroll or renew your dues for 2 years, the lodge will pay for your third year. This will include the WOTM as well. 4 Message from the Sr. Regent: A big THANK YOU to all the members who participated in Soup Day. We had plenty of variety and they were all delicious. We couldn t have done it without you all. Congratulations to Arleen McGregor and Maria Lydig on earning their Academy of Friendship. Mark your calendars for February 11th starting at 1:00 for the Shoot. We had a great time at the Convention. As you may have heard, we had a hospitality suite again and it went very well. One of the topics discussed at the convention was membership retention. Your membership is vital in keeping Moose Heart running. As an incentive to keep your membership, beginning February 1, 2018 through April 30, 2018, you can pay for two years and your third will be free. This is for renewals as well as new members. Have you heard of shoparoo? It is an app you can down load on your phone. You scan your receipts and a portion of your purchase goes to Moose Heart. This along with Smile.Amazon are ways you can help at no extra cost to you. If you have been involved in any community project or helped a friend or neighbor who is ill or needed assistance, the time you spent can be credit for WOTM community service hours. If you have any question as to what qualifies, please see us. Elections we will soon be seeking nominations for Board positions. We need a minimum of (3) officers to keep our Chapter valid. Please consider nominating yourself for a position. You are welcome to come to a meeting to observe what each position does. You may also ask any of us and we will be happy to discuss with you. We welcome you to join us every 1 st and 3 rd Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. We are pretty good at keeping the meetings at an hour or less. Have a great February!!
