3 Birthday Party Hostess Every month Knife River Care Center has a Monthly Birthday Party for the resident s who live at the facility. The Care Center relies on Hostesses, to help, assist and provide cakes for the Birthday Party. We are looking for a group to fill the month of February, they can be a homemakers group, a ladies church group or maybe just a group of friends that gather monthly and feel the need to do something special. I am sharing this Birthday Party Hostess list with you, so you can help to spread the word. Maybe those of you reading this article know of group of interested individuals. Please contact Carey VanPelt at for details and how to proceed if interested. JANUARY-Zion Lutheran FEBRUARY- MARCH-Concordia APRIL-Medicine Butte Homemakers MAY-PrairieView of God Ladies Ministeries JUNE-Congregational JULY-Golden Valley Homemakers AUGUST-St. Joseph s Catholic SEPTEMBER-St. Paul Lutheran- Hazen OCTOBER-Immanuel Baptist NOVEMBER-WMF Ladies of Golden Valley DECEMBER-Prince of Peace Team Player of the Month We would encourage everyone to nominate an employee who you feel should be honored for something good that they have done. We employ many people here at Knife River Care Center, and we feel they all are very special in their own way. This is one way that we have chosen to honor them for being special. Forms are available in the coffee shop. We would like our resident s families and visitors to feel free to nominate someone for Employee of the Month as well. It is always nice to know that families and visitors appreciate what we do for their loved ones. If you have any questions regarding this, you can inquire at the Receptionist Desk. are

5 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Have you ever thought about volunteering at Knife River Care Center? If you are interested please stop by the Activity Office to pick-up a Volunteer Application or contact Carey VanPelt at There are a variety of services that we could use assistance with. If you like to play the Wii, board games, play cards, read to the residents, visit in the German language, clean out flower beds, bake cookies, these are just a few of the ideas that you could assist us with. We look forward to seeing you! If you happen to be walking by the Fellowship Hall, you may notice there is a new pet that has taken up residence at Knife River Care Center. This new pet is a beautiful creature, it almost looks real! It neighs, moves it s head, shakes it ears when you scratch them and swishes it s tail. Can anyone guess what it is? It is a Fur Real Horse. This horse came to the Knife River Care Center compliments of Rachel Horning of Zap. It has brought much delight to our resident s who reside here. Rachel, thank-you! For being so generous and kind with your gift. Your generosity will always be remembered!
