1 April 2017 Spring has sprung Welcome springtime and its new beginnings and WELCOME HOME to the newest members of our Pacifica Ocala Family! I would like to extend to you our warmest wishes; we are thankful to have you here with us and honored that you have chosen to call Pacifica Ocala Home. April is here, and it's time to celebrate as spring gets into full swing. This month will be an exciting one with all kinds of special new events planned for you. First we will have an April Fool s Day Magic Show, then we will celebrate Barbershop Quartet Day with a live Barbershop Quartet performance, and we have a Springtime Tea Party planned with all the trimmings- fancy hats included! We always have fun at our weekly Happy Hour events, every Wednesday, with live entertainment and delicious refreshments. Please feel free to invite your friends or family to join us- this is Your Home and we are happy to have your guests join us. John Fitzgerald Kennedy once said, "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. We truly do appreciate our residents. THANK YOU for your confidence in us and for your contributions to our Pacifica Ocala family! I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Executive Director and am committed to supporting our Residents, Families, and Associates. Please do stop by and visit with me anytime. Warmest regards, Tonya D. Johns Executive Director I LIVE ON A-WING AND PLAY BOCCE FROM TIME TO TIME. I BAKE AND LOVE MY PAINTING AND COLORED CRAFTS WITH FREDA. WII BOWLING I EN- JOY IF I CAN FIND MY SPOT AND OF COURSE I LOVE RUMMIKUB AS WELL! CAN YOU GUESS WHO I AM? Al Ambrose Joseph Samuel Martha Vanderspool Lisa Simon

2 Zito s Hideaway It is March 2017 and I can t believe that I have been living here at Pacifica Ocala for three years. As I sit in my reclining chair, I can remember the first time I felt a warm homelike feeling come over me, especially after visiting two other Assisted Living Facilities. I won t mention any names but one of them is very popular. However; when I first entered the other popular facility, I noticed that in their front lobby there was a receptionist behind a large plate glass. She asked me my name and I immediately got the eerie feeling of being in an Emergency Room. After Patrick Zito that I went on a tour of the entire complex. Then I got the second surprise of the day. After walking down a long depressing hallway where the rooms are located, I felt like I was in a subway somewhere in New York City; to make matters worse, the room that was available for me was on the second floor and all of the activities where located on the first floor. I would have to take an elevator located at the end of the corridor every time I wanted to do something. I was very disappointed. Now I thank the Lord that I have a wonderful place to live. In my opinion the atmosphere here at Pacifica is very tranquil and gives off a feeling of peacefulness with very little tension in the air. The employees are remarkable and very professional. My hat goes off to all of them. We are blessed to have such wonderful caring employees who help brighten up our day. This year started off with a bang. For example; we had a surprise Chinese family dinner to celebrate the Chinese New Year in January. And then we had another family dinner in February to celebrate Mardi Gras which included Cajun food New Orleans style. Both events were outstanding and the food was delicious thanks to Amy, Janet, Barbara and Homer our marvelous cooks. I would also like to thank Evelyn, Gwendolyn, Kerri, Constance, Antonio and Brandy for the wonderful service they provide in the dining area. To be honest I can t say enough about the entire staff here at Pacifica Ocala. But I will say that they are here for us and we sure appreciate each and every one of them, starting from the top down. I would also like to mention that the happy hour event that is held at 2:00pm on Wednesdays has been great. Lou Gagliardi and Mark Raisch who have been with us for awhile know how to get things going and they are true professionals. Don & Jill Joyal and Andrew & Terri Dean also brighten up our day with their great vocals. One wonderful change that was made starting this past January is that Robert Freeman is now ministering to us twice a month which falls on the second and forth Sunday of the month at 2pm. Many of us always enjoy his devotion hour, which was held at 2pm on the second and fifth Sunday of the month. If you have not attended Robert s Sunday service, I am sure that Robert and his wife Gloria would welcome you with open arms. I must also mention that when Robert speaks about the word of God, his words come to life. I can t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than listening to Robert as he fills our hearts with love, compassion and a good understanding of The Word of God.
