7 Project Community Connect This annual event helps reduce barriers by bringing a variety of community resources to a single location for one day. Resources may include medical, dental, housing, employment and county program assistance. Program trainers include a psychologist, exercise physiologist and dietitian. The key elements of the HEALTH Program are establishing healthy eating patterns, promoting an active lifestyle and creating thoughtful habits. 20 Parenting Resources: Pregnancy and Beyond Welcoming a new child into your life is one of the most memorable moments you ll ever experience, and is excited to share it with you. To help you prepare, our birth centers in Fairmont, and New Prague offer a variety of classes designed especially for pregnancy and parenting. Registration is required for all prenatal and postpartum classes; class sizes are limited. Plan to attend classes between 24 and 32 weeks of your pregnancy with a support person who plans to be at the bedside during the birth. 23 Family Birth Center Pre-admission Session If you re planning to deliver your baby at Mayo Clinic Health System in, you re invited to schedule an appointment with a registered nurse from our family birth center. Designed for women and their partners who are 28 to 32 weeks into their pregnancy (or sooner for women expecting twins), this visit prepares you for your upcoming hospital stay. During the 45-minute session, we ll review your unique needs, review any concerns you have, discuss plans for your baby s birth, initiate admission forms and the birth certificate, and tour the family birth center.
