Walk in the parade with the VFW, come down to the VFW at 9am or meet us at the parade site at Broadway by the Elementary School. The speaker will be Captain Brandon Holloron, retired U.S. Army and member of our VFW. Miss Buddy Poppy will be Bouger s great granddaughter Karlee Marie Parker. Post s election for new officers will be Wednesday, May 17 at regular meeting at 7pm, executive board meeting is at 6:30pm, everyone welcome to attend. The Cabana will be open on Sat., May 13 th for our first monthly Cruise In. Starts at Noon with awards at 5pm. The grand opening of the Cabana will be on Thurs, May 25 th. The Cabana will be open for the summer Thurs thru Sat. 4pm. Our first free weekly Cruise In is Thurs., May 25 th with DJ John Summers, door prizes. We have a GREAT facility here and we need your help volunteering to clean up. We have several major events coming up and volunteers are needed in order for these fund raisers to be successful. FISH FRY TRIVIA Congratulations to Judy Brown winner. 2,194 plastic ware wrapped. 3,080 pieces of fish fried. 660 lbs of French fries. 2,352 servings of mac/cheese. 252 lbs of shrimp fried. 840 lbs of tomatoes for stewed tomatoes. 5,000 packs of tartar sauce. 1,260 lbs of oil for frying. 1,056 volunteer hours. 875 carry out orders. 2,078 meals eaten in. Averaged 422 meals per week. THANKS TO EVERYONE!!!!!

3 CHAPLAIN S CORNER So sad to report that our buddy Chuck Windholtz passed away, please keep his friends and family in your prayers. We have a long list of friends that are ill they are: Donna Mess, Ralph Jackson, Carl Bain, Harry Power, Joe Laugle, Joe Ecklar, Darlene Johnson, Tilly, Mary Reed, Judy Brown, Barb Bowling, Fay Mergenthal, Ann Hughes, Duffy Vines, Sandy White, and Sandy s Son In Law. Please keep these members and families in your prayers. As always, please keep our service men and women, POW s & MIA s in your prayers. God Bless America. Dave Wendel, President Duwel Association LOVE OUR VETERANS SOCIETY Thanks to everyone for volunteering and donating candy for the Kid s Easter Party. Nominations on Lov-s Officers was accepted at our April 27th meeting. Elections 5/25. 5/13: LOV-s All You Can Eat Breakfast $7, volunteers welcome to help. LOV-S will be preparing the food for the monthly cruise ins, first one is May 13 th. If you would like to help, please contact me we could use your help. Come down Monday, May 29 th and walk/ride in the Memorial Day parade. God Bless Our Veterans MaryAnn Callan, President LOV-S POST HELPING VETERANS & AREA NEEDY The Post has helped in April: 32 Veterans and families with VA assistance, driving to Veterans facilities and assisting with paper work and finances. People helped thru Charitable Events using the Canteen, Event Center. Every Thursday at noon AA meets here. We have given out over $3, for our veteran members, local area needy, etc. This is what we are here for - to help! Post needs your help to step up and get active a few hrs. Each month! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Always looking for volunteers to help with the maintenance and clean-up of our Post. Volunteers for 4 monthly Cruise-In s coming up May 13 th, June 24 th July 29 th & Aug. 19 th this summer. See Bill Floyd, is in charge and he is looking for help. On July 17, volunteers needed for our first golf outing at Hidden Valley, see Hippo. On July 22, volunteers needed for our BIG gun raffle, see Hippo.
